Spent last weekend playing the new Spider-Man game in the theater and it was a blast. After playing both God of War and now Spider-Man at 120 inches, I don’t think I’ll be able to play a game on a smaller screen ever again. The amount of immersion a large screen provides for gaming is wonderful. Looking forward to putting much more time into Spider-Man again this weekend.

Thanks. I really wanted to have an in wall rack/shelving area for my A/V equipment. I got lucky that the house we bought already had the closet area to do that in the basement. It took only a little bit of extra work to fit the Ikea Pax wardrobe into the space.

Update for my theater room. I have chosen to get rid of my Oppo 203 and replace it with a Panasonic UB820. It was a tough decision, but the 820 really does put out an amazing HDR picture. The build quality is miles behind the 203, but I can live with that.

Also, I added some pictures of my new Mezco One:12 figures and T2 endoarm display.

Watched all three Matrix films yesterday. Watching the new 4K discs was like seeing and hearing the movies for the first time. It was a really great experience. I thought the freeway chase in Reloaded was going to be the standout Atmos moment, but it was the final fight between Neo and Smith in Revolutions that blew me away. The sound of the storm is completely immersive. I’m already looking forward to watching the trilogy again.

That's awesome! I just picked up Reloaded and Revolutions. Now that I have all three UHD's I plan to have a full trilogy rewatch too.

RodChester,

Which Audyssey Curve do you use, Reference or Flat?

Off the top of my head, I’m not actually sure. I’d say if there was a point in my setup process where I had to choose, I would have chosen reference. Only because it seems like it would be the better choice.

I have to admit, the audio side of things has always been a bit of a blind spot for me. I’ve always just used an all in one receiver and used something like Audyssey to get things set up. When you start talking about crossovers, ohms, and things like that I get totally lost. I’m much more comfortable with the video side of things.

Good stuff. If you just performed the Audyssey and didn’t change the curve it defaults to the Reference curve. It’s the curve I also use. I’m always curious which audio setting people prefer.

Nice setup, but your Projector needs a proper upgrade to enjoy real HDR
Would stick to Z1 if you have budget, then 995ES or 885ES I currently own one, or NX9 Lamp Based.
So Far your theatre is awesome but this Projector is really not that great for a real UltraHD performance.

Well, for the price of a brand new car, I’d sure hope those other projectors would outperform mine. For a fraction of the price of those other projectors, I am more than happy with the performance I get out of my 285. Especially with it being paired with the 820 player.

You would be blown away with NX7, as it will perform much much better than 285ES. Price wise its not the price of brand new car.

Maybe. However, the NX7 wasn’t an option when I was building my theater. And while it isn’t the price of a new car it is still twice as much as my 285.
