There are multiple sects of Skrulls. The Kree were also the cause of the Kree Skrull war.

Looks like a legitimate espionage thriller. However, it’s not uncommon for Marvel and other studios to release misleading trailers, so who knows if the series will be consistent and maintain that tone throughout. Hopefully it will.

And yes, it’s good to see Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill again, and hopefully she gets plenty to do here since she’s been underused in the MCU especially given how long she’s been a part of it. But I have to say, I’m more excited to see her play Tegan and Sara’s mom in the tv series ”High School”, which is premiering next month.

Literally revealed in sixties comics to be the case in the first Kree/Skrull war AFAIK. The only thing the MCU did differently is that they didn't lead you to believe the Skrulls were universally bad like the comics originally did.

Of course, they did lead audience members who never read the comics to believe the opposite...

In order to make this work they have to have someone from the bad Skrulls be revealed as one of the favorite characters...whether it be Maria Hill (like the "killed" Colson") or another hero thats weve grown to like.

The Spider-Woman moment was the big reveal in the books, so they gotta check the boxes with this story.
It cant be the good skrull working for Fury and acting as Fury while he develops SWORD.

Someone has to be an Evil Skrull.

They also might not want this to overlap with Mando S3, which will draw lots of attention and discussion. Ms. Marvel got a bit overshadowed releasing at almost the exact same time as Obi-Wan.
