I see free shipping if you spend $100 on the site. What are the shipping rates for lower amounts?

I think it may depend on the weight of the items. My one movie with heavy slipcase cost $5.63 Media Mail shipping. Did a test now with 2 in normal cases and it was $6.38. I'm in Hawaii. If you place items in your cart, you can input just your zip code on the checkout page and the shipping will be calculated.

But did you know we're also getting new arrivals and restocks for new movies while we work on this project as well? Our prices are pretty good on new stock, too.
I just placed my first order! I got the Severin release of the TV series, TALES TO KEEP YOU AWAKE for just under $17.33, including shipping. Not bad. I'm looking forward to receiving it and hopefully a good transaction so I can become a regular customer. Thanks!

This is correct. USPS calculates the shipping based on the weight of the items. The best way to tell what shipping will be is to add the items to the cart and let it tell you what it comes out to.

You know, I got to thinking. Would a fixed shipping amount be preferable to you guys? It would certainly make estimating how much you're spending before you get to the check out page, and there are instances where it could even save you some on shipping, but if you're only buying one movie, it almost certainly would cost more (not to mention being less transparent and potentially removing the option to choose the desired shipping service).

I value all the feedback I get because I think it makes for a better experience, so let me know which is preferable. Still not sure myself.

I'm fine with the calculated shipping in the cart, thanks for asking. Plus fixed shipping could get to be difficult for you. If someone orders a few big box sets you might be shipping at a loss.

I don't mind the shipping being calculated in the cart either. Most of the prices I've seen on items I've ordered or have thought about ordering, once the shipping price is factored into the cart it's still a good deal compared to eBay listings I've tracked.

Looks like we'll keep things the way they are for the time being. Thanks for the feedback. We value every bit of it.

That's the goal! We use ebay active and sold listings (plus other factors like what we've sold it for before, what we paid for it, etc.) to help determine how we'll price pre-owned stuff. The goal is always to be on the lower side of what's out there.

That's a good idea. Obviously, you want things priced to sell, not priced to sit around for six months.

Exactly. I had plenty of shelves full of movies before I started this venture, so I'd rather keep the inventory turning over so I can continue to grow and get more cool stuff for y'all. That, and it builds good will. In addition to making money, I'm just happy to play a small role in the continued growth of this community. I love this shit.

Do you have a certain time of day where you update your new and used titles? Checking your front page has become part of my routine during work breaks throughout the day. Always exciting when new stuff pops up!

Thanks! It's more or less sporadic, although you'll have the most luck around 8, 10, and 2. But it really depends on when I can fit it in between other things, so it does vary.

Just updating to say that everything with my order went well, the title arrived very well secured and protected in a box, encased in bubble wrap, and I had no issues at all ordering from this new retailer. The price was right, the communication very professional and expedient, packaging superb, shipping fast. I highly recommend Monster Maul based on my small, problem free order.

Just popping back in to let everyone know about some updates to the site navigation, and in particular the genre sorting and filters. Over the past two or three weeks, we've been working on product filtering and sorting options, both on collection pages and on individual product pages. After much tweaking and testing, everything appears to finally be in place.

You'll notice several filter options in the pre-owned and new movies sections of the website, and I wanted to draw attention to the "Genre" filter option. All films have at least one genre tag associated with them, although many have several. For example, Army of Darkness is tagged as "Horror", "Comedy", "Action", and "Fantasy". When filtering by genre on these pages, you can select multiple genres. This filtering is set up as an "OR condition", meaning if you select "Horror" and "Comedy" at the same time, you will receive movies that have at least one of those two genre tags ("Horror" OR "Comedy").

You may have also noticed an information block being built out on all movie product pages. This block contains the film's genre, format, label, and case type, as well as whether it is a new or a pre-owned title. All of this information is generated as links, so clicking on the genre, format, label, or case type will now take you to a page where you can explore more movies in each category.

Additionally, the Movies drop down in the header menu also has expanded categories for Label and Genre.

The goal with all of this was to make navigation around the site a little easier and give customers a number of different tools to find everything they're looking for, or just browse based on their particular interests. Things like the product information block are generated automatically based on the information put in when the product is created, so if you see any errors (missing info, dead links, etc.), just let me know and I'll get them fixed asap. We don't have a website dev team, there's just me, so sometimes I don't get all the bugs worked out straight away. As usual, any and all feedback is appreciated as we try to make this thing the best it can be.

And don't forget, that ForumFrenzy 10% discount is still active, with no end in sight! We've seen a lot of activity with it, so thanks again for the amazing support. Love this community.

Just want to say even from when I discovered your store, possibly before these updates, the filtering has been exactly what I want. Filter by used with a slip on items in stock? Easily done. Can't imagine what you're doing to make it better, but just want to give you some feedback that it's fantastic. Some of the other sites I feel I have to do wonky searches to easily see a group of listings that I'm after.

Thanks so much! Don't worry, no functionality has been or will be removed. Just working on adding functionality, improving navigation options (whether by adding filter properties, expanding menu items, or placing links in helpful places), and making sure everything works as intended.

Wonky navigation and filtering for online stores has long been a pet peeve of mine, and being user friendly in that regard was one of our goals from the get-go. It's extremely validating to hear people are as happy with the results as we are

In other news, we've acquired a few Vinegar Syndrome Media Club slips. A couple have already sold about as quickly as we posted them, but there will be more going up in the coming days/weeks. I try to keep some of the more rare and big ticket items spaced out so they don't all go up at once and get gobbled up by one person.

We're adding a bunch of Vinegar Syndrome and partner label releases to both the New and Pre-Owned sections of the site over the next couple of days. Really excited about some of the stuff we were able to acquire for you guys. A lot of OOP titles and slipcovers, and yes, the discount still applies on pre-owned movies.
