i personally enjoyed this movie and i think the problem people have is that they compare it to the original when they shouldn't...........they should be viewed separately and then i believe you will gain a lot more appreciation for zombies take on the story...............it was not suppose to be a remake of halloween but a re imaging.........meaning a different take on a story and characters you know.......this is where i think people got lost or confused..........zombie didn't want to remake halloween the way carpenter did because there was no way to surpass it...........he wanted to take carpenters story and characters and add different elements to make it his own and i believe he did a hell of a job
