Thanks to this thread, I pulled out Roller Coaster Tycoon (original), loaded into Vista (gotta set that compatability) and was at it all weekend...the wife was NOT pleased!

Raiders Of The Lost Ark on the old Atari 2600. I would spend hours after hours on weekends playing that game.

The Roller Coaster Tycoons and any other kind of tycoon game, and The Sims 2. Both enormous day wasters for me. Especially when you put in all of the user created addons.

FWIW: under absolutely no condition would I play any of those Tetris clone games for the PC. They were all crap and never stacked up to the "real" Tetrises from 8-bit NES and Game Boy from the late 1980s.

i have yet to play sims2 but i had the first Sims with all the expansions which definitely resulted in me failing a good many tests in high school
