Found an early solid review of the movie here,

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/news...an-in-3d/13478

Looks like the 3D portion and effects are lackluster but solid 2D. Might want to save your money going for the 2D only version.

Menu looks pretty awesome! I wonder if web shoots across the screen when you select something.

Sounds about right. I saw it in 3D at the theater and was underwhelmed. I don't know if that's because it was in Real 3D which ain't as good as IMAX, but aside from a couple swinging scenes, it looked like a 2D movie for 90% of the time. Then again, it was a heavily character-driven film, so that shouldn't come as a surprise.

According to that review, the 3D and 2D are on the same disc. I thought that they came on separate discs?

^^I'm confused about that also, it says on the 3D Blu-ray cover "3D Blu-ray + Blu-ray + DVD"

That is not the U.S.A or region 1 version, we will still be getting the 3D & 2D on separate discs.

Guys, here in Brazil the 2D and 3D editions will be on the same disc. Does it make the picture quality worse? Should I stick with the 2D only edition for better quality? Thanks!

Not necessarily, Underworld Awakening was one where this was the case, but next to that most of Sony's 2D/3D combo discs have had equal picture quality to their 2D-only counterparts.

No it doesn't... previously there have been plenty of 3D/2D (on same disc) releases.

The 5-disc Japanese edition can be deemed definitive so far in terms of extra material. It contains those 3 BDs the regular 3D US edition includes (movie in 3D, movie in 2D, special features) as well as the Target and Best Buy exclusive DVDs. Not to mention it looks really smooth (although costs quite a few bucks).

You forgot to mention that it's $125....BEFORE shipping.

Also, the two exclusives are Wal-mart and Target...no best buy disc.
