About $46 more or so, for the extra 2 discs worth of material. Figures. I already OWN the regular version.

Just got this in the mail today. To be fair, the extra discs are actually additional war documentaries as opposed to just some mere extras, which is pretty nice. Also, this isn't just a green colored box as you see in the cover art... it's actually a fabric that's supposed to I guess feel like old army clothes or something. It's not thick but, it's a really nice touch and this is a pretty classy looking box.

If you don't mind would you be willing to take some pics of the front and the side?

Thank you

I believe it is also available on Blu-ray on the 15th just as this WWII in HD set will be.

That Blu-ray.com review really ought to specify that the previously-released material is still 1080i. Which is unfortunate... Was hoping for a progressive encode. Is that so difficult, or was the show done in 1080i from the ground up? Kind of ridiculous...

Great series otherwise. Watched it on Netflix streaming, actually. Wanna pick up the Blu-ray eventually. Think I'll wait for a major price decrease on the collector's edition.

I'm really loving Amazon on the collector's edition of this series, I bought it on release day and today they refunded me another $17, making it a total of $34 refunded. If anybody bought the collector's edition on release week might want to inquire if they haven't received a refund yet.

The price drop to $24.99 convinced me to cancel the "bare bones" edition and substitute this one. I'm also picking up Vietnam in HD as well.

I grabbed this too now that it's dropped.

Man, I have now gotten everything that I wanted and more in deals this holiday season. This totally puts me over the top and I certainly didn't expect all of it, especially by December 1st.

I have the original one but wouldn't mind getting this one as well. I'm hoping it'll drop some more in the future like the first one did. Didn't the first one get to like $14 or less?

The price drop of the collector's edition is slightly annoying considering I'd just bought the regular edition. 25 bucks is too good a price to pass on; I'm really interested in the new documentaries. Wish it would have dropped at the same time as the regular edition.

Gotta do something with the two-disc version now. Could probably just return it to Amazon, but I have to pay the return shipping cost.
