it's optional, of course, 3D is optional too.

Still, I heard once that Chris Nolan and Zack Snyder are both big supporters of 3D but won't want their own movies to be 3D just yet. Let alone conversion.
I'll say no for Inception 3D if it wasn't properly plan and have great quality like Disney's.
Zack Synder is a huge fan and his most recent film was in 3d. Sucker Punch was going to be converted and only isn't as he doesn't fell there would be time for a good conversion to be done. Chris Nolan doesn't seem to be a big supporter of 3d, he was asked to shoot inception in 3d and didn't as it 'would take away from the story', although when he asked to convert he didn't as there wasn't enough time.

Are all examples of more then decent conversions buddy

Conversions are a viable form of 3D that if done right nearly equal Native 3D productions. I welcome an Inception conversion if it can be done right but if they decide to do it half ass they would be better off doing nothing at all
I don't think any conversion could equal the quality of a Native 3D experience. I've heard some complain about Alice and G-Force's 3D so they aren't perfect. Maybe decent, but I haven't actually viewed them in 3D.

If WB is serious about this conversion, then I'm quite interested in how they'll shoot the Paradox scene... it seems like it would be impossible to do that in 3D.

It can be done, just convert it as a moving staircase.

after getting a 3D TV i am all for 3D and yes it is here to stay it actually looks like you are looking into another world when watching 3D on the TV.
but 3D convertion is not always good. Alice in Wonderland is freaking fantastic and i think that is the only succesful convertion done. But inception in 3D that was never meant to be in 3D to begin with is not gonna work that goes for all movies that are being converted with no 3D in sight. it was different with Alice and movies like Piranha because they was shot with 3D in mind. So i also think Titanic is gonna be a big mistake to convert to 3D. Cameron is really full of himself. He should release Titanic in 2D in glorious HD on blu ray instead.

I am seriously conflicted about this one. I have oodles of respect for Nolan, I just happen to completely disagree with him about the gimmickiness of 3d. I think the depth and layers of Inception on 3d blu would be incredible, but its one thing if the director is apathetic, or non-vocal about his opposition- it's kind of another to me if he's flat out against 3D.

(I also have blind bought more 3d blu's than I ever intended to blind buy ANYTHING because I want the format to thrive- or at least the niche to be healthy. Until it settles in, I think I'm going to do a lot of double-dipping and buying, but where does the line between respecting a director and supporting something I think is cool fall).

I won't judge until I see it just like The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast coming out on 3D this Fall. Looking forward to it!

USA INCEPTION 3D would be AWESOME!!!!!!!

This film was one of the best I have seen in a very long time, I am really hoping that WB does a fantastic job converting Inception into a 3D version for Blu-Ray, especially after it has won so many Academy Awards.
I love the addition of 3D to some of the best films.
some that I would like to see in a 3D conversion Blu-Ray would be:
Director's cut of Terminator 2 Judgment Day,
Director's cut of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy,
Director's cut of Alien and Aliens,
(Director's cut - if it exists) of the first 2 Transformers
Director's cut Blade Runner,
Director's cut Apocalypse Now,
Director's cut Pirates of the Carribean Trilogy,
all the Harry Potter Films,
the first 3 Indiana Jones films,
All the Disney films.
Those are all that I can think of right now...
Lets all get after the production studios to get them to do this conversion worthy of the fans.....

I'd personally see it in the IMAX again rather than a 3D conversion.

I can't wait.I don't understand how some people can say "oh don't put it in 3D and ruin the movie".The movie was already made.If you don't want the 3D version don't buy it.If anything,I think this movie should have been in 3D in the first place. It's a movie about dreams.

Will be ok as a conversion, but unless they are filmed with real 3d cameras from the start, the 3D will never look proper.

Exactly. I won't get it, but I support all the crazy people who would.
