What made this movie atrocious rather than just merely bad was that it was insulting to the original (far superior) source material.

This is one 3-D movie I'm never going to waste money on, personally, in protest of how it managed to take a fantastic animated series and turn it into dreck.

Amen to that. I just wonder how faithful the live action series will be that is coming to Netflix next year

When I used to own this, I tried taking 3D screenshots. That only confirmed that a huge chunk of the film - maybe the majority - was just flat 2D pushed back slightly into the screen.

There ARE parts that were actually converted, and some of them even look okay, but a lot of the time you really are just watching a movie with sunglasses on.

I've never seen the source material this is based on so I can only rate this movie on its own merits. It did the job as a basic fantasy adventure with some nifty fx. Shame the 3D didn't get more time though.

Finally finally pulled this one out of the plastic. Wow the 3D is awful. We opted for 2D about 10 mins in since it was distractingly monotonous.

The story felt like it should have been awesome, but turned out quite the opposite. To have so much going for it and to have it come out like this was pretty shocking.
