Perhaps this is because you are able to post in an adult and mature manner? Something woefully lacking from a pair here. AV Forums is probably the UK's premier home cinema forum. A few here have been banned from it hence the exiles thread. They are what they made themselves.

I used to be a regular, but it got to the point where you couldn't post anything pro PS3 so I gave up, it was full of Xbox360 trolls and fanboys which is a shame because on the whole I found it a very useful site. Haven't been there for ages.

I guess reverse-trolling is a true mark of maturity. Listen, if you're looking for a ban here, I'd say that insulting members for their conduct elsewhere is a good way to go about it.

P.S. If sure you'd all be welcomed back on the forum if only you could all behave and be civil.

Its very obvious who is causing the problems at AVF and the mods let him. The forum is badly moderated, so why bother?

Surely this thread is proof positive that the forum is well moderated?

So you're so mature hiding behind a new screen name. Now your trolling here insulting members and spreading FUD probably the same FUD you spead on AVF.

It's amazing how the biggest Trolls are those who are quickest to point the finger.

So Mr.Mature, who are you on AVF? My guess is your a pathetic mummy's boy who would rather hide behind an annonimous user name and the safety of the mods on AVF.

In fact I bet you are a MOD on AVF.

Be catty as you like---you've been rude enough to members in good standing that a report should probably be sufficient to banish you.

But if you get your rocks off playing the troll, go for it.

Every forum other than the HD movie and games sections are great places.

The HD movie section is great to discuss movies, unfortunately some see it as their duty to twist everything into a pro HD-DVD thread, then complain when their logic is questioned.

There was also a time when any PS3 thread was ruined by 360 trolls, but that has been cracked down on.

Go to AVForums HD section and reply to some of the posting and you will see.

HiDefFan (ironic name for a HD-DVD fan) is typical and look how long he lasted here 6 posts. The mods allow constant belittling comments but if you respond they attack you. I think they don't understand what trolling is and why its banned in normal forums. Their response is to ban people who react to the trolling - not the trolls.

The 46in version of your TV, very pleased and got a good one without banding.

BTW if you want some PQ settings I found some great ones, though they initially appear dark and it takes time to get used to them.

Can't find the site ATM:-

'Please bear in mind that using our settings on your own LC42XD1E by no means guarantee an accurate picture, simply because your house has different ambient lighting, you may be using other types of input connections, there may be intra-model variations, or you're used to non-D65 images.

With that disclaimer out of the way, here are our post-calibration user menu settings when running a HTPC with DVI-HDMI connection in a dim environment:

Backlight: -4 daytime, -6 evening
Contrast: 35
Brightness: -1
Colour: -7
Tint: 9
Colour Temp: Low
Sharpness: -10
Black: Off

If you find the final picture too yellow/ red, that's because most of us have been "brainwashed" – we've been looking at 9300k bright and bluish pictures all our lives (computer monitors, most new HDTVs, etc.). But 6500k is the colour temperature at which most films are shot and broadcasted... so if you want to watch a movie the way the director intended it to be watched, persevere with the seemingly yellow/ red tinge for at least 1 week. Your eyes and brain will get used to it eventually, after which you'll wonder how you tolerated the bright and artificial 9300k pictures beforehand.

Video games, on the other hand, are generally not developed according to the 6500k standard. In this case, rather than using the above settings, it may be more desirable to adopt a higher colour temperature, and adjust the brightness and contrast as you see fit.'
