Personally I wish Disney would finish releasing them on DVD, but not through MOD. I love Ducktales, Chip N' Dale, and I especially want to start watching Bonkers legally, I only have the christmas special on VHS! There could be intrest growing with the now-abandoned-90's are all that block and Disney has been releasing new Vinylmations and Pins with characters from the shows. Gives Me Hope for more

Those five are the classics for me...
Bonkers -- liked it ok
Aladdin/Mermaid -- didn't really care or give them much of a chance at the time
Hercules -- never saw it
Goof Troop -- liked it then but don't think I would now

Wuzzles -- want to see it on DVD!
I've never heard of any of these shows! They had a Mermaid show?! Aw Id love to see that.

Hunchback was not one of my favorite Disney movies, but I did feel the pain and anguish that Queasimoto experienced. It was gut wrenching. Of course I will get it on blu-ray -- and I hope this will become a Target-exclusive digibook edition (like Cinderella, Brave and Secret of the Wings). Please bring us The Little Mermaid and Mulan first.

At this point I would buy MOD in an instant to finish them off. I'd complain about it, but I'd do it.

Oh, okay:

They made TV shows based off the movies?! When did they do that?!
Back in the 90's, when people actually MADE syndicated cartoons. (Although Lilo & Stitch's series was later exiled to ToonDisney.)
Mermaid and Tarzan were for their ABC Saturday morning, but Aladdin, Hercules, T&P, and the cartoon Buzz Lightyear (if you want to count that) were for their afternoon daily strip.

(Oh, wait, you're saying you never saw the Hercules series either?
)

He said Atlantis should be coming out at the same time. I asked if the sequels would be included, but he hasn't answered me back on that yet."

From DVDizzy.com Forum
I could care less about if the sequel is bundled with it... but what about bonus features?

The CAV LaserDisc release was packed with extras! I'm lucky to own a copy (and a working player) and was looking through some of the stuff on that disc just last week. It was really great! Sadly nearly none of it made it onto the Gold Collection DVD (not a big surprise at all, but at least the LD's audio commentary track made it onto the DVD).

The LaserDisc set had over 85 minutes of extras, including a 'Making of' documentary, plenty of other short features (including an interesting one about the CGI crowds), and tons, and tons of still galleries. I'd love to see some of that artwork in HD! Even if the rest of the features are in SD, I just hope they're ported. For more info on the extras read the back cover of the LD jacket here on my blog

Not all of us are so lucky (or geeky enough) to have an old LD player and access to these awesome deluxe sets from the 90's . Which were usually packed with bonus features that (sadly) almost never see the light of day ever again.

Oh wow thats great lol I'm going to try to watch this thank you! I didn't know Hercules had a tv series either. I think I might have seen some of the Lilo and Stitch one! I was like 1 and a half when the 90s ended so I missed out on all these I grew up with Hannah Montana, Wizards, Good Luck Charlie, Phineas and Ferb and all that.

Thanks for the links!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 sure was god awful....I remember watching it for the first time a few years back, and I thought it was hilarious that the credits started rolling at the 59-minute mark. I guess it's a good thing though that that poor excuse for a sequel was only an hour long.

I don't mind if the sequel is included on the Hunchback blu-ray.....but, I really don't want to see characters from the sequel on the cover!

I know it most likely will include crap from the sequel, but I would prefer if the cover ended up looking more serious and artistic.

Hunchback's one of my favorite Disney films, can't wait to pick this up when it's finally released, next year or whenever. Hope it's done justice with a good amount of bonus features and swell cover art.

+1

That's one of the reasons why I hate the idea of Disney putting the DTV on the same set. (aside from the DTVs being crap, IMO) I said this before, but if it was just a sticker saying "Also includes [insert DTV title here]", I'd be fine actually. I know it's a very silly belief, but I do wish Disney would release the films and the DTVs separately. Also yes, this is in need of a serious cover. Maybe the original poster artwork, perhaps? (I know, I'm asking too much)

Well, I might by a DVD of the Hercules series for the William Shatner episode to put in my William Shatner DVD collection. Yes. I have that. It's three shelves worth now.

On Cinderella, there was a sticker on the slipcover about the Tangled Ever After short included. Granted, it's just a short, but that's the way to go if you ask me.

I've honestly never seen that much of a collection to one person (I'm Mickey Mouse though) That's unique!

I don't think disney will ever put the movie as a sticker, they always market them as two movies. Idc if it says the title, its not going to bother me, its not like there is multiple covers on it and split. Its the same cover with a tiny color variation between the sides. If you don't like the sequel don't watch it.

This discussion has been going on forever. The point people make against sequels being included is that it means Disney is treating their classics and their DTV crap alike. Which is an insulting notion. Buying a 2-movie collection and paying for the sequel has the psychological effect of the studio making you feel like the lowest common denominator. Like you can't appreciate classic movies on their own, you have to have silly childish sequels included.

This is not an effect people can just shove under a rug. I understand why it bothers folks. I absolutely loathe sequels being included myself.

And then there's people who are Disney purists and only want the originals.

Exactly. When I buy a movie, I don't want to be forced into buying its sequel as well. The only time any type of double feature set works is if the sequel is also a pretty good film. Then, I don't mind owning both films. But unfortunately, Disney sequels have always seemed to suck. Like you stated, they tend to be very "childish." Hunchback is a much more dark and serious film, so placing the lighthearted sequel with it is too much of a contrast and disgraces the original film.

Another favorite Disney movie of mine is A Goofy Movie. I wasn't too fond of An Extremely Goofy Movie, but I bet Disney will include the sequel when it's released on blu-ray....whenever that will be.

Has anyone rented the HD version of this on youtube or itunes? Just wondering if it has the caps files or not. I would be extremely disappointed if the blu-ray isn't caps transfer, not only because every caps film besides RDU has received one, but if its going to be bundled with its sequel and the sequel will have a digital transfer, the original should have a complete digital transfer.
