I really hope they make a better edition with more special features; ie deleted scenes, outtakes, commentary, etc. As soon as they release that, first day purchase for me.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Soderbergh hasn't had much anything on his BDs in a few years. Usually just a short featurette. I don't think there will be another edition of this film for a while, if ever.

Got this disc "Behind The Candelabra" yesterday will not play on my Oppo 93 or Oppo 83. It loads previews come on, get to the movie menu and press play. Player screen shows all zeroes then top menu that's it tv screen black. Have been in contact with Oppo so far nothing works. blu-live is off, persistent storage clear. It is not hooked up online. All the latest firmwear up to date. Waiting to hear back from Oppo.
Disc plays great on my Panasonic DMP-BD35 which has not had a firmwear update in years.
UPDATE: Getting the beta firmwear update for the 93 hope it works.

It played fine on my "international standard" Pioneer deck.

So is this region locked or not? I thought it was, but the "playback" on the review page say A, B.

It says Region A on the cover, but it's really all-region. Yes, you need the latest Beta firmware to play this on an Oppo BDP-93.

I ordered this when Amazon's price hit $14.99. My order was placed on October 13th.

Yet, the disc has yet to ship. WTH??!?

it was too bad that Damon did not win, he really did an amazing acting job with Scott.

even Rob Lowes brief roll was highly effective and the makeup/prothestic work (which did win an Emmy) gave him an uber-creepy appearance.

I'm glad this did win 11 of 15 nominations, HBO's airing of this really was highly appreciated since supposedly when the film was being touted to various studios for release, it was basically brushed aside.

To be fair, I'm not sure this would have as much broad appeal to a theater-going audience as it does to HBO viewers. Personally, I loved it and I'm glad HBO picked it up.
