I thought the non-Target version of 2012, also from Sony, was a 3 disc set that also came in a thicker case. Maybe that's all that was available to use. I prefer that anyways since it's less prone to damage.

Well it's all they had so I picked it up from target. I guess it makes sense for a three disc. I just prefer thin cases. Also I give away the dvd.

What a shock, Amazon still hasn't shipped my Spider-man Figurine set even though it was slated for delivery today. The worst part is going into Best Buy and seeing it there and knowing my Amazon order is being delayed. If I would have waited, I'm sure Best Buy would have never had it in store. Ugh!!

The thing that annoys me more is the fact that Amazon seems to be doing this a lot lately. They always have an excuse as to why something is not guaranteed under the preorder guarantee rule.

i just got mines from walmart and all of the limited edition mask boxes was damage with that mess they put on it so you cant steal it and they was on tight and was putting a hole in the box.. i had the guy go look in the back for one that didnt have that thing on it. did anybody else walmart do this

Just got back from going to Target on my lunch break. I picked up 2 copies of their exclusive version of the 2D set (one for me, one for my step-dad for Christmas). I didn't know about the prices at the other stores to match, but since I don't have any of the ads handy, I'm not going to worry too much about it. The savings would have been nice, but it's not make or break.

It looks like they didn't get many 3D sets in. There were only 2 copies when I was there. I still got the 2D since I don't care much for 3D, the 2D copy was cheaper, and I prefer the cover of the 2D version.

Is Target disc about history of the spider-man from comic to latest movie or is it just about the new actor playing the Spider-man? Or something else?

I don't think I will be interested in Walmart's lizard disc unless it tells entire back story of the lizard character from the comic book. Just like I don't think I'll be interested in Target disc if it's the featurette on the new actor only.

This will determine which version to get for me (bestbuy, target, Walmart)

I watched the Target exclusive disc. They mainly talk about separating from the original trilogy and what they did different. They also show clips of Raimi's films and praise them. It could work as an HBO sneak peak. They talk about Peter as a character but don't mention anything outside the films. I don't see myself watching it again.

Let me help you justify it. Its the ONLY steelbook option. You wouldnt say that about a blu ray / digital copy version (if it was the only one) if you didnt have a ipad to use the digital copy. You are buying the collectible case version NOT the 3D version. It just happens to come with a 3D which you can either sell to a friend or keep for when you do upgrade to 3D. I personally have 6 3D titles but no 3D TV, but i plan on getting one in a year or two when I upgrade.

i was worried as with snow white steel i had two damged steels before taking a good one home,but with this one i just got one off display inspected corners and felt for bumps got a mint steel
