Some of my duplicates were movies that I got individually, and then got in a collection later one like Gremlins, Clerks, and Chasing Amy. Some were different editions, like the LOTR films. Most, however, of them are because I later went and got the steelbook version, like the Resident Evil films.

Here's a fun suggestion. You should put all of your editions of The Hunger Games in the middle of a tranquil forest meadow, use a lottery to choose two forum members from each district, and make them appear out of the ground all around the meadow so that they'll all run for your collection as soon as the countdown is over. My money goes to the person who grabs the steelbook first, because that's the most effective weapon in a life or death situation.

I'm not busting on you, though. I have the standard edition of The Hunger Games, and it's a quality flick.

Argh. For the love of God...

I forgot that I have Universal Monsters: The Essential Collection box set on Blu-ray, but also have Legacy Collection DVD editions of all those movies (because I like the sequels on the Legacy Collection DVDs).

I also have the Digibook Blu-ray of the 1933 King Kong, but I have a DVD box set with King Kong, Son of Kong, and Mighty Joe Young.

If we're just talking Blu-ray editions, though, then Casino Royale is the only one that of which I have double copies.

Oldboy: Region 3 DVD, The Limited Edition Tin, in the Vengeance Trilogy Boxset, and the Tartan Blu Ray.
Avatar: Collectors Edition, and the 3D version.
Casablanca: The UCE, and soon to buy the 70th single disc.

I have two copies of In Bruges (the Swedish release because the U.S. didn't get a Blu-ray release from the start, and the subsequent U.S. release)

I also have a few James Bond duplicates - the SteelBooks for Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, and Thunderball, along with the individual releases of You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace. All of those are duplicated in the Bond 50 set that I also own.

As for duplicates between Blu-ray and DVD, there's too many to even worry about trying to list. This thread is really about duplicate Blu-rays anyway.

Only one double dip blu so far:
Return of the Living Dead. Bought the US version for cheap when released, had to own UK steelbook when I heard about it. I bought that before knowing it would play figuring it would be the kick I needed to go region free. I'll be free soon enough, once I feel like I can afford it. I have to account for how much shit I'd be importing if I had a RF player too.

Terminator sounds like it will be next for upgrade, although I'll most likely try and sell the old one. I already have 2 dvds of it plus a vhs.
I also did the send in for Gladiator when I got a dnr mess, and waited out Gangs of New York until I found a remaster in 2010.

Zero

I used to own the amaray and steelbooks of Batman Begins and Dark Knight but I can't really stand either film so I sold both of each.

Local used shop, where I buy the vast majority of my stuff. I almost didn't get it because I already have sleeping beauty. I asked the guy about it (was ignorant of even its existence) and he said 18.99 and I thought about it for a second and said "nah". Then I pulled out my iPhone and saw the asking price on Amazon and eBay... so i went back up to him and told him I changed my mind.
