The steelbook was on sale for a whole week or a little over leading up to the release date though.

I really wanted to like this one. It was merely ok for me. Raimi's SM2 remains the best of the bunch by a wide margin.

Bronze this and hang it on the wall for truth.

Watched my disc with my family, liked it better than when I saw it in the theater. Would be a lot better if it ran about twenty minutes shorter.

Thought the disc looked great, in context it didn't seem overly dark at all.

1 hr insofar love the movie it was a blind buy for me. What I like Best is that it feels like ramis,sp1, but does enough to change the little things so it feels like you are watching a new movie about a character you know and love. I'll post more once I finish the movie

Watched this in 2D and loved it. Last night before going out I popped in the 3D disc and checked out the last 30min of the movie and was really impressed by the 3D. I will be watching it again complete in 3D.

go search for reviews in YouTube. my only complain is they forgot to paint Spidey's costume webbing, whether intentionally or unintentionally. but for 39.99 it's a no brainer

Finally saw this last night, and thought it was a real treat! I'm probably in the minority as I really liked the original trilogy, and thought this was a great reboot!
I really liked the scene
[Show spoiler]where Peter, slowly, slid down the web into the storm drain hub and shot web strands down all the pipes and remained in the center waiting for vibrations along the strands. Just like a spider.
Also, on that note, when he was battling the Lizard in his school, the scene where he was wrapping the Lizard in webbing and crawling all over him, again, just like a spider.
Little scenes, but I thought those were very well done!
The extras were, flat out, excellent! I rank them right up there with those of Prometheus.
I was a little leery going in, but I felt this movie delivered fairly well...AND was pretty faithful to the comic! Looking forward to #2!

100% agree with you. The reboot is awesome!
[Show spoiler]Spider-Man covering the Lizard with his webbing was a pretty cool.
I really liked that scene as well. It is something we have never seen in the films and the CGI was very impressive.

I love that too. In the comics or the previous movies, we often see Spider-Man sitting on those giant webs. But they never actually showed him making the web before (that I can recall). Very cool to see it come to life.

Quite possibly. He's watching a commercial for it online while developing the web shooters. Also, there's an Oscorp box with a shipping label sitting on his desk. Doesn't seem to be some top secret impossible to get item.

True. But now you got to wonder...How does he pay for it? I doubt he could just use his name. The moment the people of OsCorp realizes Spider-Man's using their webbing, and remember that some kid named Peter Parker ordered their webbing, they could put 2 and 2 together.

He could've used Uncle Ben's name or something couldn't he? Or perhaps Aunt May's name to help get the stuff.

it just doesnt make sense that the web stuff in the lab was so secret and secure (unless what is secret is that the spiders make the cable), yet at the same time, any old kid can just order it. regardless, still really like the movie.

True. But I doubt he would go using his uncle or aunt's names because in the end it would lead them right back to him anyway. For instance, if he was to use the name of uncle Ben, they could easily tell that uncle Ben is dead and that would put heat on both May and Peter. Similarly with aunt May. No doubt by the end of the film they have gotten a good view of Spiderman. One look at May and they would know it was not her. But one look at Peter and they could easily make the connection.

I don't think the product itself is top secret, considering they were probably planning on using it for commercial use anyway. But like all companies with a research division, you have to keep your research out of the hands of competing companies, right? It just so happens that Peter got lucky when he did to be able to get inside the room.

You guys are trying to find logic in a movie about a boy who gets bitten by a spider and gains superhuman strength.
