Arrow A co-worker is finally switching

A guy at work who's had a huge LCD forever is finally switching to blu-ray or so he says. I told him to come here first for assistance since he doesn't have the first clue as to how to begin the transition. Hopefully he wasn't lying and soon we will have another member in our ever growing ranks.

I hope you helped persuade him to the Blu side. I've given up with my friends. They just don't get it, even though they've got HDTVs. Neither of them have HD programming either (but one has an HD antenna for HD locals for football/sports).

I've been pushing people at work yes, especially those that I know have huge LCDs. I mean come on you can afford $2000+ for a TV but you can't afford $300-400 for a player? Not buying it.

Doesn't the average consumer still think they're watching High Definition just because they have a HD capable TV?

I don,t even try anymore, most people I know assume they
have the best with SD, it,s not worth the hassle to me.

The average consumer is still baffled by the difference between a digital and an analog TV.

Hey, at least you have gotten someone to go the blu side. I have two friends at work with 60+ tv's (bought within last 2 yrs) and both have 7.1 surround sounds and one of them did the custom wiring for his surround sound but neither have any plans on switching to blu. I try and try but they won't even listen...

I think other people can spend their money however they want....

however, if a friend tells me they don't think it's "worth it" for whatever reason..... I try to educate...... and if someone is strongly opinionated towards "Monster" or "Bose" or "upconverting" etc.... I don't even try..... it's their money afterall

I would say so, yes. My old roommate, his dad works for Comcast and has a Panasonic LCD rear projection. Whenever I go over there, they're always watching SD programming even though they have a HD box. And my roommate, he has a PS3 but is only using the composite cables it came with. I'm going to have to buy him a set of component cables for Christmas.

Haha I told my mom to tell everyone at her work (kohls) to switch to blu.
I was like tell them DVD is like black and white as Blu-ray is like color kind of like the wizard of oz XD.
