Default Why can't I find the 46G10?

I just got a Best Buy credit card and they don't even carry the 46G10. Anybody know anything about this? What would you do - or what would you buy instead?

Does it have to be at Best Buy? If so, they have a good price on the 50" G10, only $1499.99.

If size is an issue they do sell the 46" S series, but it's the same price as the 50" G10.

Online prices for the 46" G10 is about $1300, so $200 more for the larger set doesn't seem like a bad bargain if you can afford it.

My living room isn't very big. I'll be mounting it over the fireplace and don't want the TV to be bigger than the fireplace. A 50" would be OK, too, but my wife thinks that it would be too big for our room. We're sitting anywhere between 5ft to 11ft so I kind-of agree.

I have other credit cards, but they have high balances.. so I'd like to use my best buy card. I may go for the S1. I'll have to research it.

You may want to consider waiting and saving up a little cash if that's the case?

Thank you everyone for the replies. Went to Best Buy last night and attempted to get the 50g10. Fail. Looks like Panasonic is not fulfilling their stock. Can't even have it shipped to the store. I almost got the 50s1, but decided to wait a week. If nothing changes, I'll be ordering the 46g10 online..

If you are looking for the 46 inch G10, I would recommend going to the Panasonic site 1st and placing your zipcode in to find the closest dealer. If that doesn't work for you then you need to see if BB even carries that model. Ask them to look for that model number!

Over the fireplace isn't really a good place for a tv. If you ever use the fireplace the heat can cause damage to the set. Furthermore, the television would most likely be far too high for you to view the set comfortably. If you can put the set anywhere else, I would recommend it. If not, at least invest in a tilting mount so that the screen can be tilted downards toward the viewing area.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do not plan on ever using my fireplace. I've always had problems with fireplaces pouring smoke out of the front and making my smoke alarms go off. More trouble than they're worth. I may eventually get a weak fireplace insert that is more for the look. I am also planning on purchasing a tilt mount.

With all the open walls in my living room.. over the fireplace seems to be the only place to do it.

Find a way to cover the fireplace and put a nice TV stand in front of it, the area above the fireplace is actually to high for viewing, you will get a neck ache from it , what about the other sie of the room , is there a wall there, also what about placing the couch in front of the fireplace sence your not going to use it , always other options to look at ,, But also I would go with a 50" TV the G-10 is a steal right now , and I can say I had a 42" and all I tought about was a bigger tv from the day i got the 42' , trust me on this one...
