I forgot all about this release until my friends asked... what type of summer time films do you have? We were looking for a hot summer nite movie ti watch. and she mentioned The Grifters... and I said I didn't have the DVD but UK had a BLU release... and I only watch The Grifters in the summer... so I looked up PRO B's review and thought well still no US release and if it does happen it could be not so great? (How these films are handed out) SO I ordered it from UK for roughly 11.00 US dollars.

Great summer noir. The movie surprises me each time I see it. Great performances all around.

Zavvi have two versions of the grifters listed both with the 101 label cover shown but one is listed as the dual format and the other is a single disc. I can’t see any listing online for 191 ever putting out a single disc version. Makes me wonder if it’s the old optimum release and that they’ve slapped the wrong cover on it. Any help?

101 only have the Black Label dual format release.
It’s currently in their 2 for £25 if you buy direct.

One of those films that gets better with each viewing. The 101 Films release has the Blu-ray, DVD and a nice booklet.

I'm in the process of selling off duplicates and I was going to sell the Optimum release, but that has a 5.1 audio which isn't on the Black Label release for some reason
