Have been holding off on purchasing this on DVD in anticipation of a Blu-ray release. Looks like that is finally happening now! Good news, indeed! I suppose details right now are a little sketchy? I couldn't see whether this is a Region Locked title and the Audio only shows DD 5.1, which would be a disappointment.

Oh yes yes yes its finally coming!

One of the best TV shows ever made and a wicked price, £56 is probably what the DVDs still cost now.

Now just need Deadwood and the rest of the Sopranos.

It's only £49.98 on Amazon right now. I sold my DVD box sets in preparation for this. I loved the show, I'm saddened it only ran for two seasons. Here's hoping this heralds the start of HBO putting more of their shows on Blu Ray, like Carnivale, Six Feet Under, Oz...

United Kingdom ROME [Blu-ray] Region?

Hi,

I did a search but can't find any answers if the UK version of ROME playable on Region A PS3? The price on UK amazon is much more cheaper than USA amazon and I am thinking of getting this.

Appreciate any confirmation/reply. Thanks.

P/S, if someone is able to confirm the region for Forrest Gump would be great as well.

United Kingdom ROME: The Complete Series. HELP

I am in the States and want to import the UK version of the HBO/BBC series ROME because the packaging is MUCH better and it's actually less expensive.

Can anyone confirm that the discs are region-free?

Many thanks.

I've now tried playing all five discs of the first season in PowerDVD set to both Region A and C and they're all fine. Judging by the languages and subtitles they seem to be more or less the same as the US discs.

Default Rome - Complete Series

Can someone please confirm if the UK release is a direct port of the US release by HBO? Never known Warner to distribute AVC video transfers and that's what HBO used.

If the UK set is a different VC-1 transfer, better/worse than US?

cheers

1. The UK set is region free and NTSC-friendly
2. Disc contents are identical to the US edition
3. It comes in "normal Blu-ray boxes" in a card slipcase

oh ok, thanks. The US packaging I think is much nicer, and region free, so I'll go for that... that is, if I ever get to watching this show!

I have just ordered mine from Amazon UK for £33.97 + £3.68 for postage all the way to South America. I believe this is the best deal we will ever find.
