I have noticed on BD discs that there is a digital copy of the film, does this mean I can load it onto my iPhone???

Yes; just import it into iTunes and sync it onto your iPhone.

Sorry for being completely stupid here but how do you import it from the BD disc to iTunes on the PC.

The Digital Copy is on a dvd, put it into the computer and it should prompt you, and most have a piece of paper in the case that has directions.

I still can't bring myself to wanting to watch a film that I own on Blu-ray on a screen that is smaller in width than the size of my johnson!!! I'll listen to music on the go, but watching a film I have in a Hi-Def format on a tiny screen just disrespects the artform of it.

Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Digital Copies should not be included on a disc. They should be downloadable from the internet since you need a PC with internet connection anyways in order to access it.

They're good to watch on the train/bus. You don't even notice how small the screen is after a while anyway.

I would much rather interact with the world around me when I'm not at home. I've never felt the need to watch a movie anywhere I go. But if you enjoy it, there isn't anything wrong with that. I think digital copies are a waste and I would rather that they not include them. The discs are not free, I'm sure I'm paying extra for something that I have no interest in.

Default I'm for digital copies being included

I'd like to make a few points on studios including digital copies with the purchase of a blu-ray. While it's true those copies viewed on an iPhone and the iPod Touch pale in comparison to viewing on a large TV you are getting some value:
1. iTunes usually sells a new release for $14.99 so if you're paying $20 to $25 for a blu ray movie that includes a digital copy it's not a "bad" deal. Some regular catalog DVDs are also including a digital copy.
2. The movie you get is copied from the bonus CD and not downloaded from the Internet. A copy to my iTunes library takes less than 4 or 5 minutes as opposed to downloading it which can take more than 20 or 25 minutes with a cable modem.
3. If you have kids or need some entertainment while you're on the train, bus, airplane or delayed at an airport it's nice to be able to watch a movie.

I'd like to see this trend continue.

The Gran Torino Blu Ray had a digital copy but I had to insert the disc to my computer and then download it from the Warner Bros website after entering a code and then downloading some of their software. I don't know if any of my other Blu Rays have a digital copy where you can just drag it off a disc, although I havn't actually looked yet.

I always prefer to watch a movie on larger screens - try to avoid smaller screens. CD gives me more value than a digital copy certainly for some movies.

You know, I hate the whole idea of "watching a movie on your iSod".
I mean, seriously... do you really need to unless you're thát obsessed with it
or perhaps you're on your way to an acting-audition for a last-minute help?

One thing might be nice though:
If you can use a Digital Copy for on a laptop or something.
Whether that would be with the disc or if you could load it onto the HDD.
That way you could have a library of Digital Copies if you like.
I mean, that still makes a little sense as you'd have an acceptable monitor.
But not on a portable media-player or something.
Just maybe for kids, cause you know, they usually care the least of all, but myeah...

I don't want to be telling people what to do by the way.
I'm just saying, like some other people, what's the use on such a small device...

I'm pretty sure you can watch it on your laptop since you're downloading it to iTunes. I've never watched any of my digital copies but I usually take them over to my brother's house. I know he enjoyed a couple on the plane to Hawaii on his last vacation.

Yes, you can load them onto your laptop or home computer, too.

I like the idea of digital copies bundled with DVDs / Blu Rays - much easier than trying to download something, which can take hours. It's not ideal, watching stuff on a portable device like an iPod, but it can be handy. I like to have a few things stored up when I'm travelling over long distances (say, on the train) to help stave off boredom. It's no substitute for watching on a proper screen at home, but they do have their uses.
