Default Is TSI worth the extra $ over Polk Monitor Series Speakers?

I am replace my 9100thx onkyo speakers, i come up that i see a lot of good discount deal in polk monitor speakers like the monitor 70, 40 and cs2, is tsi 500 or 200 worth the extra (nearly 50% more) was consider BIC PL89 at first, but price is like $1400 for 7.1 set up while the tsi 500 and tsi 200 set up would be like $1700 but the monitor 70, 40 and cs for 7.1 set up is like under $1100.

It's merely a cosmetic difference with the TSi line going as much as 2Hz (a difference you won't notice) lower than the monitors. I can vouch for the Monitor line. Good line at a great value. Stick with that if that's your price range. However, I suggest you look at the monitor line from Paradigm if you can afford it. It will run around the price of the TSi line.

As much as I love my Polks, Audiophile is right. Try to look into Paradigms, as they are great speakers!

I hooked up my friends monitor 60's to compare to my 400's and could barely notice a difference. We concluded the 400's sounded a bit fuller but it is hardly noticeable. I personally think the plastic looks cheap on the monitor line compared to the all wood TSI line (especially if you have the grilles off) but if you don't care then don't spend the extra money them.

+1 on the paradigm monitor series, for $600 you can get some bookshelves that would out perform Polk's hands down...

you can also look to PSB for some great speakers

The biggest difference IMO is the TSI's are bottom-ported, while the Monitor line is front-ported. There is the cosmetic difference as well.
