Video: Hitler Hates Movie Remakes

Today we bring you as a “Pick” our very first real Screen Rant video! Our prolific UK writer Ross Miller has taken the popular excerpt from the movie Downfall (which chronicles the final days of Hitler) and laid captions over it to spoof what he might think of today’s trend of excessive movie remakes and movies based not only on video games, but even board games like Candyland and Monopoly.

We’re certainly not the first to use this video for some fun, but I think Ross did a great job of it.

Yes, it does, when huhuh-slackers think the joke is "Look, he got mad and started cursing!"

No. No, no, no, no, no. NO.
The origin has a much deeper level than that.

It's not about someone throwing a tantrum and shouting a lot of cool bleepable words, it's about Hitler and his imaginary "troops" that were going to singlehandedly win the war for him, and the moment he got the reality-check headline that--oopsie!--they turned out not to exist in the real world after all and the Russian Army was now on his doorstep...
Which is why it's usually applied to some world-domination idiot fighting a well-publicized Denial battle against reality, claiming they won't get off the stage until the fat lady sings, and what happens on the long-awaited day the headlines come in and they get an earful of opera.

We were the very first one, friend, WE were. And that's the whole point:

The Blu fans INVENTED the Adolf-Roll. It never existed before us.
It was ABOUT Toshiba. It always was. January 4, 2008, W-Day.
Toshiba WAS Hitler in the bunker, Sony was a day's march from Berlin, and the clip couldn't even touch Toshiba's real-life "Warner will save us!" delusions, when most fans could've told them they never had Warner to begin with.

(Admittedly, it was about Hillary Clinton before the convention, too, but Hillary and Toshiba's fates seemed to go hand in hand:
