Default Onkyo Picture Downscale issues

I have PS3, Onkyo 806 Receiver and Hitachi Projector which only has a component video ( No HDMI) If I connect my PS3 to my onkyo through HDMI, is it possible for me to downscale the video through my receivers component out to be connected to my projector.

I would like to thank Fireman325 and un4gvn94538 for helping me out with my PS3 issues in this forum on a earlier occasion which advice had worked for me

can't you just force that hdmi input to a certain resolution? take it off of thru and set it to the resolution you need. I'm not sure but I thought you could do this in the Onkyo setup

Let me try it out and see if it works. I have the 705 and it has an option to turn off the HDMI out. I think the x06 and x07 models automatically output through HDMI.

Nope, it didn't work out. You might just have to get some component cables for your PS3. The cable is about $4 on Monoprice. You can still run HDMI for sound but use component for video.
