I'm sure they will, but it'll be a while.
I'm personally extremely eager for the American Tail movies (I and II), but it took until 2004 to release them on DVD, with seemingly no tied promotion for their release. In other words, it's like they just put them out to make sure they wouldn't forget about them. The Secret of NIMH came out in 1998 however, and we already know they've got a Blu-ready master/encode, so there's more hope for that one. |

I never bought An American Tail or Land Before Time on DVD because they were not released in widescreen (and LBT didn't have the cut scenes put back in, but the odds of that happening are slim to none). Same with The Swan Princess which did have a widescreen/restored DVD in region 2 but in region 1 it was just a p&s video master on an anything-but "special edition" release.
Hopefully for Blu will see all 3 done right. |

That would be hard to do as not all of Bluth's films are owned by the same company.
For example, Fox has the rights to NIMH, Anastasia, Titan A.E. and Thumbelina (even though WB made it). Universal has the rights to An American Tail, Land Before Time and I'm guessing All Dogs Go to Heaven. |

Bluth also had no involvement with An American Tail II.
Universal owns a big chunk of what I'm awaiting, but their only animated Blu-ray offerings so far are The Tale of Despereaux and the upcoming Coraline, new films obviously. I wonder if anyone have details about how Bluth's movies were composed for the different aspect ratios? The first American Tail definitely seems fine when cropped to widescreen. The Secret of NIMH, not so much. Feels quite cramped. Maybe it is like An American Tail II where the field of view is both shorter in height and larger in widescreen. I haven't tried The Land Before Time. |

Not on Region 1. Region 2 has an anamorphic widescreen DVD of An American Tail.

I wish MGM / FOX would issue the BD for Secret of NIMH but at the same time I would be afraid what we would get would be the BD disc paired with with the most recent spec ed DVD and the BD would be the film only. I would rather do the release right the first time. Don Bluth has even stated on his site at the time of the DVD release they had many more extras they wanted to include but FOX / MGM skipped at the time, was hoping for the BD they may say yes.
