Could you liken the film to any others? By your favorites in your signature it looks like you are a strict fan of the genre. I liked the initial trailer but the reviews have been pretty bad and I hate seeing shitacular films in theaters if I can avoid it. May just rent this one.

It's pretty much Event Horizon meets The Descent. It was an ok sci-fi flick, better than Event Horizon. If you're a fan of the genre, you'd probably enjoy it.

Event Horizon was quite unsettling and remains so for a lot of people. The atmosphere is very foreboding and the design of the film itself is really to be commended. The Descent is a pretty jolting experience from a horror perspective, especially if you're the least bit claustrophobic. Pandorum never reaches the heights of either of these two films, but it is a serviceable sci-fi/horror film. It does have something in common, by the end both movies to kind of unravel and lose some tension, but I think Pandorum looses that tension after about a half an hour while Event Horizon is very intense and creepy for well over an hour.

I agree that Pandorum doesn't reach the tension achieved by the Descent. I didn't mean that Pandorum was on the same level as the Descent. The previous poster asked what films Pandorum was similar to, I was comparing Pandorum, plot-wise, to the Descent and Event Horizon. The 'psychological instabilities' of an astronaut (Event Horizon-esque) + people being hunted in a confined area by creatures, similar in appearance to those in the descent = Pandorum

I might get this one as well, since I don't plan on watching it at theaters.

Pandorum is nowhere close to the movie that Event Horizon is. Pandorum was okay at best. It had a couple of extremely cheezy moments that hold it back. Plus there are two or three actors that are borderline pathetic. Ben Foster did very well and Quaid was just so-so. I don't know the names of the others, but they won't get any awards for this performance.

Overall, it's not a movie that any of them need to be ashamed of, but it will never be the crown jewel of their filmography either.

I own Event Horizon and the Decent....sure there were similarities, but Pandorum held its ground pretty well. And I actually liked the double-twist ending!!!

I'm getting it!

I liked Descent, Event Horizon not so much.

I'm curious but this will only be a rental. I'm not planning on checking it out in the theater.

Good feedback/discussion to my initial inquiry. I'll just rent it when the time comes. Thanks.

Its defnitely going to be one that I pick up as soon as it's released. I enjoyed it a lot in theaters.
