God of War Collection vs Assassins Creed II - Blu-ray Forum

which game are you buying?...I'm a broke gamer which isn't a gimmick....it's a lifestyle...

so I have to choose between the GoW Collection and Assassins Creed II...

which one should I get?

I also would like to add that I didn't play God of War I, but made it to the very end of the 2nd one....but I stopped playing for no apparent reason

what do you suggest?

GoW Collection for me, especially at the $16.99 that I paid for it

I'm going to wait and check the reviews out for AC2 before I make a decision on it.

That's a no-brainer - Assassin's Creed 2.

The GoW collection is a re-release of 2 PS2 games! I know they've been "remastered" and that you're getting 2 games for $39.99 or less but Assassin's Creed 1 was one of the best games I've ever played as far as story is concerned and Assassin's Creed 2 will be better I think.

how did you get it so cheap...trade-in?

I am trading in Killzone 2 towards either purchase..

I would get AC2. I got my copy for only $10 more than the GOW bundle but it's a newer game.
If you haven't played GOW1 then it could be a good investment as both of them are sweet games.
Like you, I made it to the end of GOW2 but never actually completed it. lol (I'm like that with a lot of games hah)

But I think AC2 will give you more gameplay hours, despite the GOW collection giving you two games. That's just my 2cents though.

see...the storyline was great for the first one imo, but the gameplay was repetitive and I still need to know the gameplay will be improved beyond adding a few things like Da Vinci's flying machine..

I agree that the gameplay of the "side missions" was really repetitive; I mean, who wants to save a peasant in every single section of the city from the same exact situation without any advancement to the story or any payoff?!?

But, I ignored the "side missions" and just focused on the main story line and I did not find it repetitive at all. But, to your point, I also hope that they take some of the repetitiveness out of it for the second one.

I will get both, thanks to Amazon's amazing Game Credits. But if I had to choose one over the other right now it would have to be AC2. It's a new game, new storyline, characters etc. I love the GOW games they are my favorite but let's face it, it's the same story, mechanics, characters and everything we have seen before, so no surprise elements for me. But I suggest you do get them down the line because they are amazing and for the price it's a no brainer.

I'm getting the GoW Collection. Never played either GoW before so this is the perfect opportunity to beat them before GoW3 (which looks amazing). $40 for two semi-PS3 games is a great deal to me!

I'd go with the GOW collection. Its a better value at $39.99 for two games and the first AC was a big big let down so I'll wait for a price drop on that one. I doubt AC2 will be worth $60.
