Default Underworld disc problems

Hey everyone,

I have a problem. I just played my Underworld blu for the first time tonight. I got about 10 minutes into and it played fine, then I had to pause it for a few seconds. My player started making noises and when I went to play it again, it froze up and now when I try to take it out and play it again my player just says disc error.

I checked my firmware and I am up to date. Any suggestions?

nothing wrong with the disc? scratches, cracks etc.
can you play other discs?
can you delete the disc info from your players memory?
flash firmware again.
unplug player for about ten minutes.

I can play other discs
I did unplug the player for about 5 minutes to reset it

I will check about the memory thing though.

I reset to the factory setting on my player but that did not do much.

It did go through the opening Sony screen twice, after I put in other discs, but then it just cuts back to BD player home screen.

i don't really want to create a new thread just for this, so i'll ask here:
are all standalone bluray players on sale in western countries (ie: legal ones) required to connect to the internet ? or is it optional ?

Optional...you can get firmware updates by calling the manufacture or downloading it from their website on to a disc or usb. If u want to watch any streaming movies u need a internet connect wireless or hard wire.

fyi...I've had the lg370 since 4/09 and it has worked great, but (according to posts on this website and my experience) this player has a hard time updating it's self.

does the movie only hang up at the point where you had paused it?
before it gets to that point can you skip tracks ahead of the read error?
