Default A Delay In Sound

Hey guys, I just wanted to make sure that more times than not, if a blu-ray player is hooked up to the TV via HDMI cable, there should not be a delay in sound when a blu-ray is playing correct?

I'm driving myself crazy because there are times when I think the sound is off, but then I think its the movie itself and sometimes I wonder if it's my surround system. I really think I'm just being nit-picky here.

I have the Sony BDV-E500W Home theater system. It's hooked up to my TV via HDMI cable.

Thanks for your help guys.

Well I have mine connected to Panasonic CRT 32” widescreen for regular viewing and LCD video projector for limited viewing and don’t have delayed issues with the sound.

Now if I purposely delayed the DCX2496 loudspeaker crossover system for my fronts x5 speakers then yes it will delay.

Often some digital TV over analogue has delay of 2 to 3 seconds. Does the manual describe this issue?

If your seeing typical uncommon lip sync, go into one of the audio or video settings and select the correct mode for your TV what ever and replay the same film, what ever and see if the issue is still there.

If you have delay settings on your AVR check and double check with Bluray or DVD laserdisc VHS what ever to see if you’re also having delay issues with those formats.

Might just turn out to be a delay on your AVR?

There's no delay in the lipsync. It seems to be the secondary sounds of the system. Like I said, it's probably just me overanalyzing this.
