Default What's up with the price gauging for this week's release?

Seriously, like every blu being released this week jumped almost $10. What gives?

New year pretty much so holiday pricing is over. Not that surprising, really.

I've been buying new release blus for under $18 since I started collecting them (mid 2009). Kinda surprising to me actually. I wouldn't call July "holiday pricing"

Perhaps with lots of people getting Blu-ray players for the holidays they figure they can start raising the price-bar.

And where were you doing this? The under $20 new releases didn't start until October.

I bought Coraline and Watchmen together for less than $40. It was around $37 for both (got it from Amazon). And yes, this was new release.

Gouging? It seems the prices are still pretty good but I've got to stop buying for a while. I have a stack of blus that I haven't even opened yet. Some of them are six months old and I see them for less than the bargain price I paid for them.
