Default Redroom Cinema

This will be my first thread in the forum, but I have been a member for quite some time now getting ideas from all of your awesome home theater galleries to build my current theater room.

I decided to heed the advice of crazyBLUE and start a thread in which anyone could ask me questions about my theater and maybe get some ideas from it.

My theater is a low budget theater. I don't have some of the top of line equipment like many members of this forum, but I am very happy with the way my theater turned out.

Here is a list of what equipment I do have:
Panasonic AE-3000U Projector
125" (diagonal) Ultra-widescreen (2.35:1) Screen
Polk Monitor 70 Series II Speakers plus 4 in-wall ceiling speakers (7.1 Surround Sound)
BIC America F12 12" 475 Watt Subwoofer
Onkyo HT-RC160 7.2 A/V Receiver
LG BD670 3D Blu-Ray Player
HTPC (Used for Netflix, XBMC, LiveTV, etc.)
Xbox 360 Elite
Harmony 1100 Remote

Here is the link to my gallery to check it out: Click Here

Let me know what you think...things you like, areas for improvement, etc....I look forward to hearing some comments from other Home Theater enthusiasts like me. Thanks.

Very nice! That red is the color that originally wanted to go with, but my wife picked another color.

Did you use the google draw ap to make your room drawing? That must have taken forever.

Yeah, I used Google Sketch-up to design the theater before I got started. I had quite a bit of practice with it previously so it didn't take me too long to create. I like the red...it is actually a little darker than what is showing in the pics.

It is a Focupix Screen. It was the cheapest one that I could find for that size, and it looks nice and performs beautifully. It was also pretty easy to put together.

Just saw your new room . Wow you really are the King when it comes to matching up Google Sketchup to the end result. I actually got inspiration to using Sketchup from your pics. Also, loved your colors, they worked so well, so used very similar for my own. Red Room says theater to me. So thanks for posting and giving me ideas.

What happened to the old room though? New house? Or second HT

The room looks awesome! I would kill to have a space like that where I could set things up. You last theater room looked great too. Do you have any issues with the back row being offset to one side because of the door?

Sadly, I had to leave my old movie theater behind because we sold the house. It was my very first "dedicated theater room" and I only got to use it for about 5 months. Oh well, I guess it worked out in the end...I like the new set-up much better.

Thanks. No real issues with the back row being offset. Honestly, I don't ever sit in the back corner, but I have taken a liking to the right side of the rear couch. It positions me in the center of the room and the screen is big enough to not feel like your sitting too far away.

I really like your setup especially the artscow.com signs. How did you go about getting these? Do you have a link to order some specialized ones for my theater? I would like to add a couple to my theater as well. Thanks for any direction you can provide!

I created the pictures using Photoshop and had Artscow print them. They can print 8x10 pictures pretty cheap. They ship out of Hong Kong so it takes awhile, but they do good work. They are always having promotions where you can get free prints. Just upload you photos and pick the size. Mine are 8x10's.

Thanks. I love the screen too. I would have gone bigger if I had more wall space.

Great room, though too bad your screen is kind of small...

Seriously, excellent set-up.

Btw, what are the dimensions of your room? Looks like a decent sized rectangular shape.

Oh - one last thing - LOVE that Sign - "Please SILENCE your Cell Phones"
Classic!!!

Nice set up man! I like the popcorn hour, remote and the panny. The room looks great, screen looks great, seats look very comfy!!! Has that old school theater feel to it. Very well done. Hopefully I will have that kinda space one day!! A+

I am not familiar using Photoshop, is there any other way to design them to have printed? Thanks

Room size is 13' x 22'. Kinda small, but does the job for my family of 3.
