Default Favorite movie scene demo material

what scene do you use the most to show off your HT?

My favorite would have to be the Optimus Prime and megatron fight from the end of Transformers 1. Lots of dynamic range. Always puts a smile on my face.

the Enterprise pulling out of Warp entering into the remains of all of the other ships that were destroyed in STAR TREK (2009)

[Show spoiler]also the very end where they are warping away from the black hole

to date the first race in Cars has been my most used but STAR TREK will be replacing it soon

Any 'battle' scene in Band of Brothers. Scene I use most: The forest bombings during the winter, I think that's episode 5 or 6.

To show off how low the sub can go, I use Superman Returns. Now mind you, this is only DD 5.1 also, which really shows you how impressive this scene must be. But it is the scene when one of Lex's buddies drops a piece of crystal in the water while standing by the train model set. It then goes dark and silent for a while, but suddenly when the light comes back on, there is one of the lowest frequencies I have ever experienced. It may last for only a second or two, but I have yet to experience ANYTHING that has gotten that low....and again, it is only DD 5.1...so just imagine what it could really do!

Does anyone know what scene I am talking about?

I ask you guys to hear for yourself......and let me know what you think.....

This would be an addition to already mentioned above, no sense in repeating the same scenes again..

-The last 20 min of the newest Rambo movie (The bomb detenation and the 50 Cal mounted on the jeep scene)

-The beginning of Cars

-The Wall of water in New York City scene in Day after Tomorrow

-Highway Scene in The Matrix Reloaded

-Beginning of Top Gun when the planes are taking off the aircraft carrier.

I usually use Quantom of Solace's opening scene. It looks fantastic....It sounds fantastic....and it's only about 5 minutes long! Perfect for demo material

That's the same one I use too. I've only had my projector setup for a few months so whenever someone new comes over that is always the one I put in to show it off.

Gotta be Kung Fu Panda - all of Chapter 10 and the "skidoosh" scene at the end.

I just finshed watching The Day After Tomorrow and you're absolutely right about this scene. I think I'll have to add it to my list.

I also forgot to mention that there are some great demo scenes in Terminator Salvation, particularly for AQ.

Two that come to mind:

1. Kung Fu Panda - Escape from Prison and final fight sequence.
2. Polar Express - First Polar Express train arrival - hold on to your hot chocolate!

Most of the ones I use have been mentioned. I'll add the tunnel scene in Live Free or Die Hard. When the car flips overhead I always watch people and they usually duck.
