Default Joe Dirt the animated series being developed

David Spade is working with TBS to create an animated series based on the character Joe Dirt.

Thoughts?

As long as David Spade (or the writers of the movie) retains creative control this should be funny. Otherwise it will turn into the Dumb & Dumber cartoon. Remember it? No you don't...because it sucked.

In all likeliness Spade will be executive producer and provide the voice. It's nice to see TBS go for a new show like this after giving Lopez his own show.

The logline indicates that the show will depict the shenanigans of the “mullet-sporting, muscle-car-loving loser with a heart of gold.”

I do have one (and exactly one) fond memory of Joe Dirt: Christopher Walken. If they find a way to incorporate his wacky brand of non sequiturs into a weekly television series, count me in. Although, the same could be said of any other show, movie, play, commercial, or audiobook, really.

Animated Joe Dirt? Sign me up! If Spade is on board to develop it than it should be good. *fingers crossed*

I would love to see this as long as it doesn't become a "My name is Earl" clone. You know what I mean... Brandine
