Default 300 Blu-ray frame rate question

Hi all, a n00b here, just had a question on the new 300 blu-ray disc playback. I am watching it on my PS3, hooked up with a HDMI cable to my 37" LG LCD screen tv and I am wondering what is wrong with my setup to make the movie "choppy". I know of the grainy look to this movie and I am not questioning that but when I play it it looks like it might not be playing at the right frame rate. I have tried it on 720p and 1080i, both have the same problem. I have tries to force the 24fps mode through the ps3 settings and it still looks horrible. I have no problems playing XMen 3 or Crank and am wonering if I am overlooking someting or just have a bad disc?

Love the Blu!

Do you have it connected to the internet? If so, have you updated the firmware in the last week and a half?

Can you give a little more description about what flaws you notice in the image? It might help to know exactly what imperfections we're talking about here.

I agree, Blu-ray kicks ass, and I'm quite a satisfied customer. My copy of "300" works like a dream. Wish I could help.

I just watched it on my PS3 and there weren't any problems. I do know the HD-DVD has problems, but that's only due to errors in manufacturing (that seems to be happening a lot with their HD-DVD/DVD combos).

Maybe it is a bad disc, it looks like it is missing some of the frames in the playback, sound is great but the video is not smooth. I think I will exchange the disc. Probably made on a friday 8 mins to quiting time!

I noticed this too. It is like little flashes of light. I almost want to think it is something to do with my sony bravia lcd. There are some minor clouding issues however, I don't think this is the reasoning for the choppy picture since I have never seen this before. Does anyone else have a sony KDL V2500 that has noticed this?

maybe some scenes might been photographed in a high shutter speed giving it a strobe-like effect? Gladiator has a few of those, for example.

Can you describe which scenes have that strobe effect? It could be part of the film, it could be a bad disc, it could b something wrong with the system.
I have a Sony Bravia, and I love they way everything looks on it, I just haven't had the chance to watch 300 on it yet.

My system hasn't done anything like this before. I think it may be the disc... I will say, 300 has one of the worst transfer grainy as hell, Warner Bros should be a ashamed of themselves.... really.. I guess I expected more..
