Default Elite receiver owners need ADVICE!

i have a pioneer elite vsx23 receiver and for some time now the blue light in the middle had slowly faded away now which is completely white
what can i do? is this fixable? it is really annoying to look at now
any tips or advice is there anybody else that had that happened?

Are you talking about the blue light in the power/standy button? How long have you had the receiver?

If you bought your receiver from an authorized dealer and I believe it's less than 2 years old then give Pioneer a call. I'm sure they'll take care of it.

Since there are quite a few lights around the receiver's display, I don't think I would even notice it on or off to be honest......

Yeah I don't usually pay attention to it while I'm watching TV or gaming. Now that I think about it, I think I had it confused with my sister's new LED TV. It's a Samsung and has that blue light on the bottom. I helped them get it set up not long ago and turned that light off so that's probably what I was thinking of. I turned the blue light off on my TV (Samsung plasma) when I first got it too. That light was very distracting.

I have a Samsung LCD TV...is there a way described in the manual that should tell me how to turn my red light off on my set?

I'm not completely sure. Mine and my sister's have a big blue light centered at the bottom of the set. Here's a sample pic of the same model of TV I have and you can see the blue light right in the center below the screen. It doesn't look so distracting with the bright picture they show, but with a dark picture on the screen and a halo around it from having had eye surgery it's VERY distracting.

I've seen pics of other models with bigger, more annoying lights though. Is yours red?

Anyway to turn mine on or off it's:

Menu-->Setup-->Light Effect
