As far as I am concerned there are NO online stores in Australia (which is why I don't buy within)that sells Blu's cheaper than BigW, JB or KMart. These 3 always have them on special, which is a good time to purchase.

I no longer buy from Austrralia, unless it's as cheap as I can get overseas (usually the UK), or if it has only been released in Australia (or Australia has the best transfer). To stay on topic there is also www. jbhifi.com

For example I just boguth the follwoing on blu all for $190AU. That's $17AU per film (and is usually lower per film, but the two steelbooks up the price a little bit ).

Avatar (UK steelbook)
minority Report (UK steelbook)
Stranger Than Fiction
Black Book
Pan's Labyrinth
The matrix trillogy (and animatrix)
Sophie Scholl
and Let the Right Ine in

The other thing that irritates me about Aussie BDs is how hard the stock can be to find. For instance, the Deluxe Casino Royale is apparently OOP for some reason, and the Studio Canal Collection releases (which are JB HiFi exclusives) can be very difficult to source.

JB would be the only one I purchase from online (though I haven't being that the deals online have never been that good). All other online retailers are generally more expensive.

I just ordered 4 Disney/Pixar 2-disc titles from Amazon Uk for $49, which is less than JB wants to charge for two of them. Aussie online retailers simply can't compete and until they do I won't buy from them.

Devoted DVD used to be good back in the day, but since going Blu I haven't bought a single thing online from an Australian retailer.

Funnily enough it's the same Warehouse, they just sell more stuff. KaiGusto, your Warehouse prices are comparable or better to JB when the exchange rate is taken into account with some titles being super cheap. Unfortunately, our Warehouse does not sell Blu-rays (yet) and yours does not ship overseas. It's a pain because they always have good deals too! On the site they've got Eagle Eye and The Incredible Hulk in store for $10 NZD ($7.70 AU) which is insane.

I find the majority of my local purchases in store now are limited to extreme sales like the recent Kmart $12 titles or to new releases as our prices at release are generally quite good for bigger titles. Some new releases are still outright ridiculous eg The Box, which just came out and is a minimum $38.94 at Big W and $47.98 at JB!

WTF that is crazy. They must be the last of the Paramount titles.. (the distributor of paramount closed down here in NZ).

I very rarely buy from Australian stores. Mainly only buy Australian releases like Dogz in Space, Wake in Fright etc.

2nd hand is my fave. Check your local spots on reg and you can save big dollars. Scored Friday & Departed for $12ea recently.
