Default Interesting find on HD DVD players..

I did some research and found that a lot of peopel are missing the whole point about the cheapest hd dvd player out on the market.

Let look at that 238 dollar hd dvd player everyone keeps saying will win the format war for them.

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-HD-A2-...blurayforum-20
-Video Output: 1080i/720p/480p/480i

hmm interesting only does 1080i........

Next cheapest hd dvd player
http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-HD-A20...blurayforum-20
* HD DVD, DVD, and CD Playback
* Supports next-generation formats: Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD, and Dolby trueHD
* High definition 720p, 1080i, and 1080p resolution

okay finally a hd dvd player that does 1080p but at 328 dollars

then there is this one

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-HD-XA2...blurayforum-20

* HD DVD (720p / 1080i / 1080p) playback
* Video Up-Conversion (720p /1080i /1080p)
* Multi Format Compatibility
* Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD & Dolby True HD
* Bi-directional RS-232 out & HDMI 1.3 - Deep Color

this one finally will upconvert old dvd's but comes with a price of 620 dollars

now lets look at the blue ray players

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDP-S300-...blurayforum-20

* Full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema Video Output
* DVD Upscaling to 1080p via HDMI
* BRAVIA Theatre Sync (HDMI-CEC)
* BD/DVD/CD playback(4) and AVC-HD with x.v.Color output
* Multi-channel Linear PCM & Dolby Digital Plus Decoding

now this is the cheapest blu-ray player I found and look at all of the things it does and for only 456 dollars.....

Now after looking at all of this...is hd dvd actually cheaper to get true HD? From what I have found it seems blu ray players are actually cheaper to get one that actually does true HD.
