I see that the UK BD is listed over at play.com

now, a quick question....

Will this feature the special features from the UK Silver Anniversary Edition since this is from Optimum or a direct port of the US disc?

from the Studio Canal german release

since Optimum are owned by Studio Canal it likely that the disc will be similar to the recently-released german version.

Well it's not confirmed yet, so there's still hope.

But I really am a amazed that they're not doing some 30th Anniversary release, because that would have made much more worthy of owning.

Either way, I'm still likely to get it.

Looks like Play have removed it all together and HMV have put up a 30th Anniversary steelbook edition in August. Amazon still saying 28th June though

I'm very tempted to add it to my next USA order as the US version is region free

*UPDATE* Amazon have now moved it back to 19/07/10 and Play have it back up, on the 23/08/10. This is the Steelbook, 30th Anniversary edition with free soundtrack CD. Extras seem to be a straight port from the 25th Silver Anniversary Steelbook DVD.

I have recently bought this blu ray disc and i am a little unhappy to learn, the Brian Blessed commentary is not the US region free version.

I am pretty sure it won't be on the UK version either.

With all the differences with between the US and the UK Steelbook... the UK has a commentary from the Director, how is the commentary track?

Also which US DVD contains the Blessed commentary?

None. It was only included on the UK Silver Anniversary Edition DVD (which also contained the Mike Hodges commentary.)

I can't answer that one personally as it was getting a bit too late to do it justice with the volume turned up to 11, but if nobody replies before I've watched it, I'll let you know my thoughts.
