RUMOR!!!...PS3 to retail for $389.99? - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone think this is really possible that the Blu-ray backers and Sony would do this. Let me know what you think. I see where it could be possible but have doubts. Just wanting to pick your brains a little. I do think it would be one heck of a strategy.

I'm just gonna wait until there's an official announcement. Possibly at this years E3.

Regardless of the high costs per unit, I'd be shocked if PS3 went on sale for more than $499. I think the $399 price point is pushing it as far as how much gamers are going to be willing to pay so $389 certainly seems possible IMO. Still we'll have to wait for Sony to official give a price before we all celebrate or get more frustrated than we already are for waiting so long.
