Question How much would you pay to have Transformers and other Paramount films on blu-ray now?

How much would you pay to have Transformers and other Paramount films on blu-ray now? Short and sweet, let's say Paramount releases Shrek 1,2 & 3, Transfomers and others by Christmas but you had to pay a premium.

For Transformers, I'd go as high as 50 bucks. For Shrek, $25 to $30 each.

Would you be willing to pay that premium, or wait the 18 months?

ill wait 18 months, if they never came out on blu-ray, i wouldn't pay anything more than avg. price as both were avg. movies in my opinion. however, id drop a grand for all 6 star wars movies.

There's no way I'd pay a premium. We're already paying a premium just to have the movies in HD.

Fortunately for me, I'll just pick it up on HD DVD

Transformers, Harry Potter, Spiderman 3 and Fantastic Four ROTSS are all movies I didn't see in the theater and am looking forward to watching at home.

I wouldn't be surprised if commercial Blu-ray bootlegs appear for Transformers. It is damn foolish, given the PS/3 demographic and going into a big Xmas selling season, to deny that type of movie from the consumers.

BD-Rs are being sold for as little as $5 each. A small operation could be quite profitable selling on eBay, like the Asian Star Wars bootleg DVDs.

Meh, who needs transformers.

I'd rather pay to machine a bronze yo-yo or waffle, and present it to Paramount in honor of its idiotic decision.

I might pay a little extra for TF. 5 or ten bucks. Maybe. I dont know about 50 though. LOVED the movie, but if Paramount wants to be dumb about it, I dont really mind waiting either. It will be worth the wait.

I have zero interest in the Shrek series. I found the first fun, but overall mediocre, and I never bothered with the sequels.

Well I would pay Paramount about $10 to $20.00 per title. Since they don't want my money now, when they return they'll get less from me. I can show them the same amount of loyalty they should me.

I don't believe in bootlegs, I would never buy them. But if I could get a bootleg of Transformers on blu-ray that WASN'T a ripped DVD version, I'd be VERY tempted to make the exception and ask God to forgive me.

well, because of the wonderful security of hd dvd, just rip the hd dvd version, take a nice 4x blu-ray burner and put it on a blu-ray disc. enjoy so if you want to watch transformers on blu-ray itll be: 1 hd dvd (30 bucks); 1 BD burner (500 bucks), 1 blank 50GB blu-ray disc (40 bucks), so total its 570 bucks for Transformers on BD.

there's no way i'm paying a premium that's going to go into paramounts coffers, especially after they just took a $150M pay day. screw that. as a family we love shrek, but we'll wait 18 months, its the principle.

Gary - point me at the $5 BD-R and I will gladly assist in the effort

Heheh.

Seriously though, $5? I have not seen that - would be very interested.

What are people using to rip and burn HD DVD's? I know DVD Decryptor was popular for DVD, but I've done little to no research into HD DVD.

If they want to give it to me, I won't turn it down. I would only pay the usual $24 for either of them. But I wouldn't pay extra by any means.

The biggest movies I would miss from Paramount would be the Indy's and since we would get those if released, I can wait.
