Default PS3 games vs movies

I was thinking the comment about gamers being a non factor with Blu Ray vs HDDVD.

This question is for the PS3 owners. What is ownership of your games vs movies?

Personally I have 4 games vs 30 Blu Ray Movies.

What do the other PS3 owners have?

6 games and 45 movies

My question is what person wants to go and buy 2 devices if 1 device can do both? Let me spend $500-$600 on a PS3 to play games and $400 on an HD-DVD machine. Because that makes alot of sense.

3 games, 22 movies

I want to know why the ps3 is not counted as a player, yet hd-dvd/dvd combo discs are still tallied as HD-DVD sales.

I was going to post the same question. I bought the PS3 for both, thinking it would be 60/40 between movies/games. But so far, I have 4 games and 21 movies. Games cost too much. It's easier for me to plunk down 3 movies for $60 at Amazon vs. 1 $60 game. I'm not saying I expect games to ever be $20 each, just that it's easier for me to put the money towards movies.

14 games, 34 movies and personally I know I always will have more movies just because there always will be more movies out there. But I do love my games and there are at least 5 or 6 really good ones coming soon.

3 games (will be more like 7 or 8 by X-mas)
100 Blu-ray movies (give or take 2-3, but that total will soar by X-mas)

An excellent question as it brings up an interesting query... Will the Blu-ray movie sales continue to dominate as more games are released for the PS3?

I have a friend that has all 3 next-gen consoles + an HD DVD player. He is well informed on the technical aspects of the industry, yet definitely prefers the Xbox360 & HD DVD formats. And his main arguement for the current success of Blu-ray software sales is because the PS3 has no games, so consumers are justifying their purchase of the system by spending on movies. He honestly thinks that when the good games start coming out this fall, the focus will fall away from Blu-ray as a movie medium since everyone will be focusing on the system as STRICTLY a gaming machine. I keep telling him that the sales may dwindle a bit, but it won't impact the Blu-ray lead in any severe fashion.

No games, yet.

Just movies and docs.

When they come out with WWII aerial combat games for the PS3, then there'll be games.

I have wow 50 movies. I had not counted until just now. I have no games so what the heck is HD DVD talking about saying the PS3 is not a factor in the reason Blu-Ray is doing better. Plus the Blu-Ray player allows me to play video that I convert to MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 format to a flash drive and I can download and play on my PS3 or just play from the flash drive. I can download CDs to my PS3. I can download photos to my PS3. It's a great machine.
