Disney A Christmas Carol 3D Blu-ray (2009) [Region Free]

A Christmas Carol 3D Blu-ray

Hi there,

Just a quick note to let you know that the UK version(don't know if it's different from other regions) of Disney's 'A Christmas Carol' is currently winging its way towards me.

I ordered it from Play.com more than two months ago(I think; it's been a very long time) and, as of an hour ago(01.00 hrs UK time), I got an e-mail to say that it had been despatched to my address.

So, with luck, I should get it well in advance of its UK release date(November 8th), maybe before the weekend. Thank you Disney for getting it to Play.com well in advance.

Not bad, eh?

John.

Cool. Let us know how it looks. It was one of my favorite 3D titles. Jim Carry did such a great job of scrooge. I'm somewhat of a Christmas Scrooge myself, and a bit of loner. His character reminded me a lot of myself, only I'm not as mean as all that. After watching the movie I almost wanted to change my ways and go all merry Christmas on everyone... Almost lol. Can't wait to see it on Blu-ray 3D. Just a couple more weeks.

Will do, my friend. And, on a quick note, there are times I wish that the various companies wouldn't notify me of despatch. I haven't a lot of patience so being notified that it's on its way is rather frustrating.

Fortunately Jersey(where Play.com are based) is only a short distance(by plane, anyway) from the UK mainland(there are even flights from there into my local airport); it shouldn't take more than a couple of days at most to reach me.

So, as soon as I've seen it, I'll let you know what I think.

John.

God bless you! That was touching and thoughtful.

I saw this 3X when it was out in theaters. Before then my wife and I visited Union Station here in Chicago for the A Christmas Carol Train Stop. It was the best promotion for a movie that I've ever witnessed. They must have spent a ton of money on it. They had a train decked out in Victorian England, A Christmas Carol art and inside the cars were real artifacts including clothing from a London musesum from Dickens time. Another car had special effects stuff and there was also an interactive picture taking machine. The train started off in California and worked it's way across America. Once off the train there was a snow making machine providing atmosphere (it was hot outside) jugglers, carolers and a inflatible 3D theater. I was hyped up like nothing else to see this movie and I wasn't dissapointed. My wife who knows how passionate I am about 3D just shook her head.

I look forward to all the reviews and even more so of getting this disc. I thought it was great and so did my wife.

Read the signature. All Disney 3D releases are combo packs that include a 2D version on a separate disc.

lol I don't think its been posted to "me" since this is the first time I asked... I've only gotten a 3d tv in the past few weeks so I've had no reason to ask that question, not to mention the lack of titles in 3d and this being the first one I'd want.

Thank you. Didn't notice it there before. read it. The description of it sounds great. The screen shots however, look terrible. Lets hope it's not as blurred and ghosty in action.

That's a cool story. I nearly went to see it a second time. At least now we can still watch it in 3D at home.

Just go to the top of the page. Just below the Blu-ray.com banner click where it says 3D. Then scroll down to pick which 3D title you want to read a review on.

It's OK. Jimmy Smith is just our official 2D on a 3D disc question police.

So far every 3D title I have has a 2D version. But apparently there are a couple titles that don't have the 2D version on the 3D disc. I heard The exclusive version of Alice In Wonderland only plays in 3D. Oh, and I think that soccer highlights World Cup deal said it would only play in 3D. The review for A Christmas Carol states that the 3D disc will not play in 2D. But it does have a separate 2D disc included in the combo pack. No doubt so they can charge more.

Yes but World Cup isn't a movie so in my book it doesn't count.

Yes we can. The scenes when Scrooge and the ghost took flight sucked you in and you actually felt it andt he roof tops scenes in Victorian England looked magical.

Am I the only one who noticed that the scene where the snow flake lands on Scrooge's nose and he says bah, humbug and blows it off was not in the movie? They should have kept that in. I hope it's on the 3D BD.
