Default Best Christmas Music

Well since there is a Worst Christmas Music thread, I figured it wouldn't hurt to make one showcasing your favorite Christmas tunes.

Here's my top 5: (I really like Christmas music lol)

5. Chris de Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmZg7tvGN9o

4. Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A8KT365wlA

3. Elton John - Step Into Christmas
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2Tc_VAb4HE

2. White Christmas by Bing Crosby
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA45TnJQxhU

and my number one favorite Christmas song of all time???????????????

1. Walking In The Air (from: The Snowman)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubeVU...eature=related

damn I get goosebumps every time I listen to it!

So what are your favorites? Don't really need to list 5 but I know there's a lot of Christmas music out there.

I love Christmas but loathe most Christmas music. That said, the ones that buck the percentages are:

1) Do They Know It's Christmas? -- Band Aid
2) I Believe in Father Christmas -- U2
3) Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) -- U2
4) Vince Guiraldi's score to A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS
5) Christmas in Hollis - Run DMC

I see my share of Christmas music haters. Personally, I like CHristmas music when it's done right. Like it is with:

Winter Wonderland /Eurhythmics
Chrismas Time Again /Extreme
Noel! /Eve 6
Christmas /Blues Traveler
Christmas Wrapping /Waitresses
Leroy the Redneck Reindeer /Joe Diffie
Silent Hill /Thomas Howard

I'm also a fan of Bob Rivers and other comedic spins on the music:

White Trash Christmas /Bob Rivers
Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire /Bob Rivers
Holy S-! It's Christmas /Red Peters

There's a few songs I add to any December lineup which aren't related to Christmas intentionally but to me they sound snowy:

Healing Vision [Angelic Mix] /2MB
So Deep [Perfect Sphere Remix] /Silvertear
Frozen Knuckles (from Sonic 3)/Rayza

When it comes to Christmas music I much prefer the classics and I 100%agree with this. There is just something about Nat King Cole's voice that exudes "Christmas." Here are my other Christmas faves...

White Christmas: Bing Crosby
I'll Be Home For Christmas: Perry Como
Holly Jolly Christmas: Burl Ives
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas: Judy Garland
Oh Come All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles): Nat King Cole
Mary's Boy Child: Harry Belafonte
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Andy Williams
Oh Holy Night: Nat King Cole
The 12 Days of Christmas: Roger Whitaker
What A Wonderful Feeling: Ray Charles
Christmas in My Home Town: Charlie Pride

Nice list! I'm 31 and still think Christmas music from that era is the absolute best. Newer Christmas music just plain sucks and doesn't have the same feel, imho.

Yeah, to me Christmas music from that era just feels more sincere. Modern Christmas music just feels like a cash grab.

Some great ones already listed so I'll mention a couple that were not...

Ray Conniff - Christmas Medley 3 (I love pretty much everything from RC but this one in particular is just awesome)

Ray Conniff - 12 Days of Christmas (I know most people hate this song but this version is really good)

Vince Vance and The Valiants - All I Want For Christmas Is You (ignore the stupid video, just listen to the music)

Straight No Chaser - The Christmas Can-Can

Misletoe Singers - Snoopy's Christmas (The Red Baron)

Chad Mitchell Trio - The Marvelous Toy

2.) "What Do You See?"-Sonya Isaacs
3.) "Only You Can Bring Me Cheer"-Alison Krauss

God bless you and them always!!!
