Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment has given a June release date to this years 10x Academy Award nominated film True Grit. It is set to be a Combo Pack featuring the BD, DVD plus Digital Copy of the film.

Definite first day buy for me. This was my second favorite film released last year (after Inception). Really enjoyed the soundtrack too, it was a brilliant idea to "borrow" from classic hymns - especially "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", used so chillingly in Night of the Hunter and so beautifully in True Grit. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing what special features are included, still waiting on the official announcement.

Black Swan was supposed to be released on 03-08-2011 I thought.

Coming out in June, I'd expect something special being done. I can wait to watch it again but it doesn't make sense when so many movies came out either around the same time or after are being released first.

What's the effing hold up on an announcement for this film?

For starters that cover design does not seem legit at all. It's a Combo Pack (BD+DVD+DC) for which is not stated on the cover packaging whatsoever. In Paramount's or any other studios tradition is to advertise how many discs you are getting for the value.

Great acting but a horribly boring film. I love the Coen brothers but wasn't a fan of this one.

I have never seen True grit, not this one nor the original, i did check out the blu ray review and it does look really impressive. Do you guys think its worth a blind buy? it does look like a really good action movie, with a good story behind it...
