looks like it's finally time to upgrade my bd-30.
![]() I really like Panasonic's players and the service they have provided. Overall they have been very strong imo, and I am very excited to finally upgrade my original bd player. (although I do have a more recent Insignia for region b releases) |

Just used the BDT110 tonight. Faster than my 85, new home screen is gorgeous, and the 2D-3D conversion looks very very good (watched truck chase from Dark Knight).

I had a Samsung 6500 that did that too. I swapped it for a Panasonic 85 and every movie that had a problem on the Samsung played fine on the Panasonic.

I love my 85 from 2010, and this one is better so far, cant complain. It's also the smallest and cheapest BR player Ive ever purchased.

I picked up the new panasonic 210. I have had the panasonic 30, 60,65,80, and 85. there were some problems with the 60,65,80,85. it would not do the bdlive properly and would not load up discs or even not play some discs.
I know that many of you are not a fan of bdlive. with blu ray you expect everything to work. I have to say that the panasonic has finally caught up with the opp to a degree in that it more works then it doesnt. the bdlive works, playing the alien in DTS (dvd) with both versions work. loading up disc and trailers working on some universal and dreamwork blurays works. I would have to eject the disc to play bdlive to work(on the older models.). not anymore. the PQ compared to the oppo. oppo still has the edge. same goes with the dvd upconversion. I am not saying that the upconversion is bad on the panasonic. its good. but not opo. a good start. the big news is that the netflix is the 3.0 which is the same one as the ps3. it can play the DD+ and it will show up on the receiver. I have the onkyo 270. I got the DD+ to show up on a couple of titles. I can also confirm that the vudu on the panasonic 210 can do DD+ as well. I think panasonic finally has a good player that is less expensive then the oppo. but far ahead of the other companies. I dont have a 3D set so I cannt compare that part of the player. I have heard good things about it. enjoy. Jacob |

How does the screen saver work on these players? The manual says it goes to the "home screen". Does the player ever blank out the screen or have animated screen saver? Is it plasma tv friendly?

My 210 arrived yesterday and it was a little tricky getting it to connect to the internet without the firmware update, as it didn't work in the easy mode i had to configure it in manual. Watched Tangled in 3d it was awesome,i have still yet to check out the 2d-3d conversion. So far so good, fast load times compared to my Aquos player.

I've heard some of the new Panasonic players stopped having the feature where if you are playing DTS-HDMA audio in 5.1 or 6.1 and you have it set to PCM, that the player automatically outputs it to 7.1. I don't like that feature and would rather have the DTS audio in discrete channels when having it on PCM

Well ya, I know you can do that, lol!! But say if you want to listen to a Maximum movie mode or something. The only way you can do that is to set it to PCM, but by doing that, that makes the DTS-HDMA audio output to 7.1. It's a feature in all Panasonic BD players up to this year and you can't turn it off. I think they got rid of it though. Which is what my question is. Does anybody know, with the new Panasonics, if you set it to PCM, does the DTS-HDMA audio output to 7.1 or does it stay in it's discrete channels??
