Default Which movies do you want to see on blu-ray first?

I guess many people have Lord of the Rings and the Star Wars series at the top of their list. Then others like The Terminator and Matrix series.

Personally, I would like to see the Pixar and Dream Works computer movies in high def. Few would argue that "Finding Nemo" is THE movie to have for HD Plasama because of the color, detail, and family friendly story line. The 3D would jump off the screen in hi-def!

But I'd like to see those old classics transferred from film to HD because film has near infinate resolution and would translate great into HD. Creature from the Black Lagoon, War of the Worlds, Forbidden Planet, even the Wizard of Oz!

What do you want to see?

You mean besides every movie... ever? Joking aside, my personal picks would be Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (even the dvd blew me away), Finding Nemo and the Harry Potters. Good point about the oldies. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and Casablanca would be really neat on blu-ray.

Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings are automatic. Pretty much everyone would drool over these if they come out.

Those two are great choices! I would also add Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

Default What movie I wanted to see on Blu-Ray first

I actually wanted to see this movie on Blu-Ray first:

Army of Darkness

I wanted this not only because it was my first DVD purchase, but I think it keeps getting better and better the more I watch it. I remember thinking that WOW, DVDs are amazing, just look how much clearer it is than VHS!!!

I would like it in my collection and just put in my DVD copy and compare the two for nostalgic sake.

LOTR. ofcourse.

keeping it short to 10 movies:

Heat, platoon, saving private ryan, schindlers list, gladiator, se7en,
the pianist, das boot (long tv version) The Matrix , 12 monkeys

obviously there are a lot of documentary that would be really nice on
blu-ray, and concerts if we get lossless audio

hopefully the movie studios won't be dragging it's feet in making their
movies available on blu-ray.

Almost four years later, all we have are the Harry Potters.

Sorry for the ubernecrothreadery, but I was curious to see what tron's earlier work consisted of - fascinating to look back in time and see what the talk of the town was back in 2004 when I didn't even know anything about anything. Give his threads created link a glance, it is very interesting. What is this, October of 04? I was a punk freshman at UM still living at his parents' house running a 32" trinitron with no sound experience at all and with maybe like, 10 DVDs.

::goes off to see what else he can read up on::

This is time capsule ish.

Oh god, and please dont make this about the thread title itself - this is more about history.

EDIT: Oh, dammit Quexos.

Oh, dammit, frettless.

Someone lock this thread! Before I delete my post and put all the blame on someone else for this necrothreadery.

Too many to list. The big ones like LOTR and Star Wars would be amazing.
