Default Marvel & DC Story Arcs that Should be Adapted as Animation

I was looking at the difference comic book movie threads, specifically the, The Wolverine thread. So I thought to myself that I would love to see Old Man Logan adapted as a violent, R-rated animated DTV film. Of course R-rated animation wouldn't make them nearly as much money as the PG and PG-13 films do (however little they may make to begin with), so they steer clear of it. But in interviews I've heard Bruce Timm say many times that they have wanted to make an R-rated animated Batman film for some time now, but it's never gotten into the development phase. Batman: Year One is looking like the last step before they finally build up the confidence to take that kind of risk. So my question is: what Marvel and DC story arcs would you like to see adapted as an animated film (no matter what rating)?

*I'm sorry if there's already a thread for this topic. As always, I did my search prior to creating this thread, and I didn't find anything exactly like this.

I would love to see anything from Green Arrow adapted into animated form. For Batman I would love to see the Long Halloween and Hush and for Iron Man demon in a bottle would be cool. Not a huge comic reader so these are pretty much all the arcs I know of. Also anything from the Flash.

Wolverine Weapon X, with more of the team members like Sabretooth Maverick. Crisis on Infinite Earths, and Marvels Earth X.

Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X would make for some insane animation.

Anything from the Jim Lee/Chris Claremont era of Uncanny X-Men or X-Men (the 1988-1991) range would be heaven for me.

I think it would be cool to see a series of multiple animated films, based on the "Secret Wars" from the Spidey comics. Also, doing the same for the 2006 Superman comic co-written by Richard Donner would be cool as well.

The Marvel Civil War arc is a nice story-line, but it would be too hard to put THAT many super-heroes and villains on the movie screen to make it work. It would be practically impossible.

Secret Wars wasnt from Spider-Man. it was its own series, and a 12 issue advertisement for toys.

Right there with you, especially on these three. I absolutely love Enemy of the State. I love Millar and Romita's work, so whenever they team up....nuff said.

I would also love a Spider-Man animated film, but I guess he's had enough publicity in Hollywood. As for DC, Martian Manhunter would be a fresh character to make a movie about. He's badass.

I think an Age of Apocalypse mini series would be easier to do than Secret Wars, Onslaught, or Civil War because it's contained within the X-Men Universe. It would probably be confusing to someone who hasn't read it but I think for the diehard fans it would be a treat.

I wasn't aware of that; I just knew it was where the Venom storyline originally came from.

Also, Infinity Gauntlet. Dark Phoenix Saga would also be great!

1. World War Hulk
2. New Krypton (4 or 5 part comic series)

There are more but that's all I can think of right now.

Loved Secret Wars when it 1st came out. That would be cool but there's a mind boggling number of characters

I liked Annihilation and the Conquest series as ones not mentioned so far.

Marvel 1602 was pretty cool too.
