Default Sony LF-V30 LocationFree Base Station

I have a quick question about this. You can get an accessory called the IF Blaster (click here for details) for the Base Station (click here for details). Is this something that I need for it? I just ordered the base station today and it is supposed to arrive on Wednesday, 9/26 or Thursday 9/27. I am just wondering what this IF Blaster is and what it does, and if I need to order it too. Thanks!

bad link........but if it is what I think it is, I think you mean RF/IR blaster, which would be a IR to RF converter to make it so you can basically use your remote through walls/non line of sight.

this one?

Yes, that’s the one. Sorry, I fixed the link. I am using the LocationFree Base as the unit to enable me to connect my Laptop and PSP to my TV. So, technically, I don’t need this IR Blaster then, correct?

You do need the IR Blaster, if you want to control/select what you want to watch. The IR Blaster sits right on top of your IR sensor on to device you want to control (DVD player, DVR, etc). Then you can move through the menu settings or select play on the DVD player or disc skip or stop...you get the point.
