Harry Potter: Complete 8-Film Collection Blu-ray

Warner Home Video have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 on 11th November 2011.

Quote:
Warner Home Video has chosen a Friday, Nov. 11 street date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, the final installment in the highest-grossing franchise of all time.

Warner will offer a Blu-ray Disc combo pack ($35.99), DVD ($28.98) and digital download versions, and also will offer consumers an UltraViolet digital copy version of the film.

Warner Nov. 11 also will offer Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection on Blu-ray ($139.99) and DVD ($98.92), though fans will have a limited time to pick up that or any of the ‘Potter’ films: on Dec. 29 the studio will cease new DVD and Blu-ray shipments of the franchise, locking it in the vault.

From Nov. 11 through Nov. 13, the studio will mark the releases with a celebration at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. Cast and crew from the series, including James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Warwick Davis (Prof. Flitwick, Griphook), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), David Bradley (Argus Filch), Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) and more are expected to attend the three-day event.

Bonuses included with the Blu-ray combo pack include a maximum movie mode hosted by actor Matthew Long (Neville Longbottom) and other cast members; a conversation with series author JK Rowling and actor Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter); featurettes covering “The Goblins of Gringotts” and “The Women of Harry Potter”; deleted scenes and a tour of the ‘Potter’ studio in London. PlayStation 3 owners will also find a demo of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7.

Agreed, they will want to get this out for the Christmas season. I canty see us getting a full box set until they milk every individual release.

11-11-11!!! Damn, Skyrim comes out that day. I don't know if I will be able to stop playing it long enough to enjoy this awesome movie. Wish it was coming out on the 8th instead, oh well.

Best movie of the year in my opinion!

December 29th.

We should get ultimate editions. It would not make sense to release years 1-6 on ultimate editions and then completely ignore the 7th. I'm assuming we will be getting ultimate editions for limited time sometime next year.

Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - November 11th, 2011 - Pre-order up

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Blu-ray

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Blu-ray Movie Only

Warner Home Video has confirmed that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will receive its Blu-ray debut on November 11th, 2011 (a special Friday release).

The epic finale to the Harry Potter film franchise, which stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo pack with UltraViolet compatibility. No details were given however on a Blu-ray 3D release of the film.

November 11th will also see the release of a box set containing all eight Potter films. Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection will hit retail with a SRP of $139.99. Expect a more in-depth detailing of this set when an official announcement is given.

With the good news that Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and the franchise set will be available for the entire holiday shopping season comes one unexpected drawback: Warner Bros. will put a moratorium on all DVDs and Blu-rays of the eight Potter films beginning December 29th. The studio announced that new shipments will cease on this date and the films will remain vaulted for an undisclosed amount of time. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how long Warner Bros. will stick to this commitment (especially since Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2 will soon be due for Ultimate Edition treatment).

In celebration of the November releases, Warner will host a three-day event at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. From November 11th through the 13th, cast and crew members from the movies will be in attendance to mark the close of the highest grossing film franchise in cinematic history.

The Blu-ray for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will sport DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 will also be available in demo form on the disc for PS3 owners. Special features will include:

Maximum Movie Mode hosted by Matthew Long (Neville Longbottom): Includes 9 Featurettes
A Conversation with J.K. Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe
The Goblins of Gringotts
The Women of Harry Potter
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
Pottermore Preview

Pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 should be up on Amazon soon. Expect an update if details on the Blu-ray 3D release of the film arise.

Update: The WB Shop has detailed their Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 exclusives, each of which contains a unique offering of collectibles. Their headlining exclusive is a collectible slipcase edition that features a 48-page photo album. For those who would like The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2 in one complete edition, the shop is offering both parts in a collectible Gringotts Bank Box case. Check the photos below. All of these special edition sets can be pre-ordered at the WBShop.

Effing sweet! I had no doubt this would be out before Christmas. Can't wait to grab it and experience Parts 1 & 2 together as one film (since i already own part 2)! It'd be great if they eventually release the 2 together sans Part 1/Part 2 titles.
