Laputa: Castle in the Sky Blu-ray

It looks like we are getting Studio Ghibli's Castle in the Sky on May 22nd

. Looking forward to this and eventually the rest of their films.

I take it Disney isn't distributing this title? I thought they used to? I could be wrong.

Awesome. Not my favorite Ghibli film (though I've only seen it once, and that was several years ago), but any Ghibli back-catalogue titles on blu is a must-buy for me.

Plus, this'll give me a chance to re-visit the film and see if a repeat viewing gives me a better perspective and greater appreciation.

EDIT: Let's put the brakes on here a moment. Assuming the OP is talking about this release: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Castl...Blu-ray/30357/ , that is a Spanish release. Check the language and subtitle options.

My kidz watched it yesterday. I watched a bit of it with them and of course wondered to myself how much better a Blu Ray version would be.

Not sure as its listed on this site as a U.S. Release (unless I'm reading it wrong). In the details it does not list English audio so that may be the case. If so I apologize if I got it wrong.

What's the deal with this and the other two Ghibli movies not being able to preorder on Amazon anymore? It now says they are currently unavailable.

I saw the same thing last night, all three of the Ghibli Blu-rays that were up for pre-order are "currently unavailable."

I'm hoping maybe Disney is getting ready for an official announce, and then Amazon will put them back up with some kind of coupon when you pre-order them together? I just hope they haven't been delayed. I know we didn't get an official release date but all signs were pointing to 5/22.

They're still available to Pre-order at amazon.ca, and Wal-mart still has listings though I think they changed their thumbnails to add "New on Blu-ray". I'm positive these listing changes are being done because Disney will officially announce the sets soon. It'll be almost exactly 2 months before the supposed released date so now is the perfect time to announce them.
