And FF4 is actually selling discs. Transformers is only pre-orders and haven't brought a single dollar to Amazon or Paramount yet.

Transformers will be a good seller on releasedate but it still two weeks from now. HD-DVD might win it's first and if so probably also it's last week then Transformers is released.

I think Transformers will sell more than FF4, hands down. The rankings at one site, which happen to be currently close, don't really mean much.

I think you guys are reaching here. That being said, I am buying 4 catalog titles on Blu-Ray the week Transformers is released.

I hope it continues to do so.

Transformers has just about every HD DVD fanboy's hoped pined to it's sales.

I hope it falls hard.

I don't think Transformers has been hitting as high on the charts as the HD DVD people thought it would. I am sure it will go higher in the next couple of weeks. Fantastic Four wasn't doing too well up until now. It will probably do well in B&M stores too. Target has it for $29.99. Also, another strange thing I noticed in the store ads this weekend. SHOPKO had Fantastic Four and beneath the photo, it said also available on Blu-Ray. I haven't seen any BDs in SHOPKO yet. Maybe this is a start.

Yeah., and two weeks later Spiderman wipes Transformers of number one spot forever. Then what for HD-DVD, hopes and prayers?

I predict Transformers will win hands down on the date its released, but that is about the only movie they have a sure bet on. After that its pretty much over. There is no way that movie alone will do anything for HD DVD in the whole scheme of things.

It didnt knock transformers it knocked transformers pre orders which isnt say much at all. We gotta compare FF sales on the 2nd to Transformers sales the day after it is released to get an idea of the sales. I hope more FF discs sell but I really doubt it will take out transformers. But on a good note HD-DVD really has nothing after transformers is realeased so begins the grave digging.

I agree that Transformers will sell pretty well, but once Spiderman 3 drops along with the Trilogy I see Blu-Ray dominating for a lenghty period afterwards. I mean the week after Spiderman is The Pixar films....

Fantastic Four 2 will sell well for 2-4 weeks. HDDVD just doesn't have the userbase to sustain. Transformers while being a big bang the first week, but won't do enough after that to outsell any BD after it's initially week. Thats obviously just my guess, but I think it's a good one

Sony has a mega "big bang" annoucement on the 12th a few days before Transformers. (This seen on other sites I can dig up a link if you want.) I hope it's the $399 PS3 and I hope they offer incentives to buy a movie with it because ... there goes the only hope they have of transformers winning that week.

This is true, Transformers has been floating about for a while, so we really have no idea how many of the discs have been pre-ordered. And we all know Amazon is not really a great gauge to see what is selling and what isn't. It is nice to see Dracula has entered the top 100 and Halloween is sitting just outside the top 100. The following weeks sales should look pretty Blu.

I imagine there are more than a few that will not buy the dud version because it has regular core dd 5.1 audio on the almost good enough format.
